On this date, in 1942 in Memphis Tennessee, Aretha Franklin was born.
Surely I don't have to tell anyone why The Queen Of Soul is a badass, But allow me to mention that she won 18 Grammy Awards, was the first female artist inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, and over 75 million records worldwide. But if that's not enough for you, may I just ask you to listen her sing "Respect", hear her voice and the way she belts it out, and then try to tell yourself she's not a badass. You can't do it.
