Sigh out, sigh now, your cursive moment....

So, Polt, how has your year been so far?  Gee, thanks for asking!

Well, as a reader of The Palace, you know I was sick as a dog most of the weekend, especially Sunday.  I felt well enough to go to work today.  And that when the fun started.

When I got in the car, I felt my hair brushing the roof of the car.  I looked in the rear view mirror and saw that my hair, while washed and dried with a towel, had nothing else done to it and looked like bedhead.  *SIGH*  So I went back into the house, put gel on, combed it and blew it dry.  Then made my way to work.

While using the bathroom at work, I discovered that my underwear, not only was on backwards but inside out as well.  *SIGH*  Now, in my own defense, this underwear is new-ish to me.  Also, at the back, inside, instead of tag, it's got all that stuff printed on the fabric.  And at the front on the waistband, is a little tag that reads "Fruit Of The Loom".  So, this morning, when I put it on, I saw the tag, and figured that was to go in the back on the inside.  But whatever, I lived with it that way all day.

As my stomach was still a little rumbley, and as they were having cheeseburgers and tater tots for lunch, I didn't think I could handle all that grease.  So I went to Panera Bread and got a sandwich and cup of noodle soup.  The soup was delicious, but as I got to the bottom of the cup, I found a piece of metal in the bottom. *SIGH*  it was about an inch wide, little over and inch long, bent like an N.    At that point, I was done with the soup anyway, so I finished my sandwich, gave the metal to an employee who apologized profusely and went back to work.

In the afternoon, as my stomach was still a little upset, I decided the get a can of Ginger Ale.  I put the dollar in the machine, and the machine took it....and gave me nothing in return but a lot of noise.  *SIGH*  I couldn't get a can of soda, I couldn't get the dollar back.  Great.  I called the guy who fills those machines, he gave me a can and my change, so that worked well, but still....

I'm just glad that I made it home after work without having the car break down or wreck or anything.  And I certainly hope the remainder of the year goes better than the first five days.

POLT
