I would not sell my collection, for if I did, I would cry (Part 41)....

Today In The History Of Polt's Comic Book Collection

Today we go back 30 years to May 1989 and the very first issue of the Sensational She-Hulk!

She-Hulk.  Cousin of Bruce Banner.  She needed an emergency blood transfusion, and her cousin was available and shared her blood type.  From this, she became She-Hulk.  Although she didn't lose her intelligence, she would choose when she switched, and she eventually became a distinguished member of the Avengers and then later, the Fantastic Four.

But this was after all that, when John Byrne, fresh off his run on the Fantastic Four, decided to make this series.  He kept it light and humorous, She-Hulk frequently broke the Fourth Wall and addressed the reader directly (like this cover).

I didn't stay with the title forever, when Byrne left, so did I.  But it was a fun run while he was doing it.
