Today, by Craig Cermak, we have Beppo the Super Monkey.
Yes, apparently, Krypton had monkeys. And someone sent one into space at some point. And he made it to Earth. Hence....Beppo. The Super Monkey. (it was the late 50s....don't overthink it)
