Seeing this map I thought, WHAT? Japan attacked New Zealand and MADAGASCAR???? WTF!
Well, looking into it I saw yes, indeed both are true. Japan did NOT launch a full invasion of either nation, but their subs did harass and disrupt shipping around both, sinking ships flying the flags of both countries, among other nations as well.
