Badass Birthday
On this day, in Los Angeles in 1946, Liza Minelli as born.
The general hierarchy of gay men's icons, at the top, is the gay goddess Judy Garland. No one surpasses her.
Under her is the triumvirate: Barbra Streisand, Madonna, and....Liza Minelli. (under them is more recent gay icons made such by gay men younger than I. I'm not up on those icons and they're irrelevant to this post)
She's the daughter of Judy Garland. She's had a career over 60 years, starting in 1961 at the tender age of 15 by moving to NYC and began in musical theater. But she's been a success as an actress, singer and dancer.
Over her career, she's earned an Oscar, and Emmy, 3 Tonys and an honorary Grammy award.
Totally a badass.
