Badass Birthday
On this day, in Virginia in 1751, James Madison was born.
The Fourth President of the United States was one of the most influential of Founding Fathers. He led the country into and through the War Of 1812. He was played a vital role in the writing of the Constitution and Bill Of Rights. He believed in a strong Federal Government and was a central figure in the Democratic-Republican party of the time (the forerunner of the Democratic Party). He oversaw several land acquisitions that expanded the borders of the USA. And, his wife Dolly, even after his death, was a fixture and mover/shaker and icon of Washington DC for many many years.
Even tho his wife absolutely was, he too was a badass.
