 SO...

I posted last August about all the people I personally knew who had died since May of last year (when I posted about a bunch of people I personally knew who had died in the year previous).   And that number came up to ten.

Well, since August, more people I personally knew died.

- One of mom's cousins.  When I was a kid, we hang out with them, either at our place or at their place in Greencastle, at least once, usually two weekends a month.
- Phoenix's grandmother
- Johnnie's grandmother
- My uncle's second wife's father
- A former coworker who had had repeated bouts of cancer after he retired
- A new coworker's father
- The second in command at my job when I started there 30 years ago.

So that's put us up to 17 people.  All in roughly 2 years!

I know as you get older, you know more people who die.  And all of the people I just listed were older than me.  And death is not such a surprise for people over 70 or so years each.  But still, to have so many people dropped so close together...

It's disturbing. And unsettling.  And it's not likely to stop as I age.
