My birthday song, my happy world (Part 245).....

 Badass Birthday

On this date 1914, 122 years ago, Sir Alec Guinness was born in London England.

He was a distinguished actor who earned a Oscar, a BAFTA, a Golden Globe, and a Tony.   In 1959 he as knighted by Queen Elizabeth II.  In 1960 he received a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.   His career started in 1922 at the age of 18 when he first appeared on stage.  After fighting in WWII, he started making movies in 1949.  He starred in Great Expectations, Oliver Twist, The Bridge On The River Kwai, Lawrence Of Arabia, Doctor Zhivago, Scrooge.  In his later years he starred in several BBC TV series.

All of these are indeed pretty impressive.  But what makes him a complete and total badass is his role of Obi-Won Kenobi in the original Star Wars trilogy!

He passed in 2000, at the age of 86.
