Badass Birthday
On this date, in 1954, in Toronto Canada, Catherine O'Hara was born.
I know most people nowadays know her from Schitt's Creek. Or perhaps the Home Alone franchise. Or maybe even from Beetlejuice. And those are all awesome places to see her work, but I know her from her earlier work: SCTV.
Reruns of the show were aired somewhere in the mid to late 80s, I don't remember where (maybe NBC late night?). But I vividly remember watching it and all the great amazing actors: John Candy, Rick Moranis, Eugene Levy, Andrea Martin, Dave Thomas, among others. And of course Catherine O'Hara. I still remember her Brooke Shields impressions, and how they made me laugh.
Such a badass comedienne, such a badass actress, such a badass person.
Sadly, she passes away earlier this year at the age of 71.
