Spent the evening at your girlfriends..

Johnnie called me last night. We talked for about an hour. He wanted to see how I was doing, this was the first time we really talked since my dad died. And then he talked about himself and how he's doing.

Back when he was an undergrad at college in Bradford PA he had this lesbian friend, Megan. I met her once on a visit with him. Blonde, butchy and funny, I liked her. Very friendly.

Johnnie's now attending grad school (and has been for two year) in Philly. One the girls he dated earlier this year was this Indian chick named Sophia. (Indian as in from Bombay, not a Native American) He thought she was prefect, cause he's got a thing for Indian/Pakistani/etc/etc women. And feet too....but I digress...

Well, after a few dates, Sophia broke it off with Johnnie. She said she had a great time with, and liked him a lot, but, well....she's a lesbian. Had never been with a girl, but came out to herself while she was dating him (imagine the effect this had on HIS self-esteem).

Well, he told me last night, that he had introduced them, via email and the phone and such. And just recently,Megan told him she was coming to visit Philly. Johnnie was excited, but said he'd have to get his place cleaned up. It was then Megan informed that he didn't need to: she would be staying the five days with Sophia at her place.

Johnnie's somewhat flabbergasted. Not so much that his ex-girlfriend is now dating a lesbian friend from college, but that they'd stay together without having met each other and only talked on the phone and online. Oh well, true lesbian love, I guess.

In other news, Freddie is going home tonight and remaining there for over a week for the Thanksgiving holiday. He called me a few minutes ago. he was driving up. And Hagrid was with him. On the passenger seat. Belted in. And covered with Freddie's coat to help keep him warm. Freddie's mother is apparently not that thrilled but she's dealing with her son bringing a real live snake home.

I somehow doubt she'd deal as well if he brought a real live 40 year old boyfriend home.

Black holes and revelations...

One would think that Bill O'Reilly, the great cultural warrior, the hater of "secular progressives" and Godless heathens, would at least know a bit about the Bible. But, as with all things Billo and Faux News, facts are irrlevant when you're on a rant.

On his radio show this week, Billo told a caller, "go to Revelations in the Bible and look at the prediction for the end of the world," telling him, "It's fascinating, because it does involve the Middle East, and it does involve the clash of cultures." O'Reilly continued: "I'm not trying to convert you to be a Bible-thumper. I'm just saying it's an interesting read. This was written -- what? Five thousand years ago? I mean, this is really interesting." (this is from Media Matters", who quoted the transcript. The bold emphasis is mine).

I see. Someone really ought to tell Billo, he who touts the "holy war" we're now in, something about history (again, not something that generally matters to eitehr Billo or the Fox Noise Channel).

Revalations was, to my recollection, written by John. It's what Jesus showed to John after his (Jesus') death. And let's recall that we're all living now in 2007, which means, roughly, give or take several years, 2000 years after the death of Christ.

So taking all this into account, Billo was only about THREE THOUSAND YEARS off in his esitmate. But for Billo, and again, the Faux Noise Channel, that's a pretty good effort.

Tony liked the hunt: stalking the prey, enticing them, and then the kill. But Tony rarely got prey. Even with the best clothes and sexy cologne. Tony never knew his hair was ratty, his face ugly, his smile an arrogant smirk. For, you see, vampires can't see reflections. Mirrors were useless to poor, unattractive Tony.

Waiting for the train, take it to the runway (Week 1)...

So, the first epsiode of Season 4 of Project Runway is history.

My impressions? I wasn't sad to see Simone go. She didn't seem that interesting, and her dress sure wasn't. As for some of the other designers:

Christian: the little scrawny kid with the big overinflated ego needs to have that hairstyle bitch-slapped right off his head.

Chris March: Once more, the fat gay guy is a barrel of laughs!

Elisa: I'm already sick of her earth-mother, yoga, vegan, trippy crap. She needs to leave.

Ricky: How long do we have to wait for him to have a full on meltdown, with tears, babbling and all the assocaited drama, ie Andrae from Season 2?

And am i the only one who kept thinking how hot it would be to see Rami and Jack together, getting a lil sumthin sumthin going on, know what I'm sayin, yo?

Anyways, we still got more deadwood to clear until we get to the real competition.

When I was twelve, at summer camp (part 5)...

12 For The 12th
Okay, first of all, I KNOW this is the 13th, not the twelth. I took all these photos on the 12th, though. I just forgot to post them yesterday. So I'm doing it now. Deal with it.

9:30am
Mom and I went to visit the lawyers. Even though it was Veterans' Day, he came in special, just to talk to us. Mom wanted to change the will, since dad died, and talk over a few other things. It took us about an hour.

11:00am
I did some laundry at mom's after the lawyer appointment.

11:45am
I sat down to read. I propped my feet up, and Angel, mom's dog, jumped right up and laid between my legs. She slept while I read.

11:50am
And this would be me reading. Yesterday, when I opened this book, I was on page 179. Later in the day, I finished it, to page 428. Now granted, it wasn't a hard read, but the book was so engrossing, I couldn't put it down until i finished.

12:19pm
At 11:30, mom went to lunch with two of her friends: a guy she went to school with and his wife. They were gone for about two hours. While they were gone, it was my responsibility to keep the fire going in the woodstove, as that's how she heats the house. And I did so quite well.

3:25pm
When they all returned, we sat around and talked for about an hour. Then they left, and mom and I had to leave for another appointment. She and I walked downtown for this, going through the alleyway.

4:20pm
Our appointment was with mom's financail advisor. they had to change a bunch of IRA's and stuff over to just her name. And I went with her for all this. I was kinda lost, cause financial stuff, and economics, and stuff that are just NOT what my mind is wired for. Never has been. Can't even balance my checkbook to save my life.

5:30pm
I returned home afterwards and watched some TV. I fell asleep for roughly and hour and a half. It was a nice nap. (this photo is obviously a re-enactment, as i took it myself. But I feel pretty certain this is what I looked like at that time)

7:00pm
For supper, I just broke down and ordered a pizza: thin crust, pepperoni, extra cheese and beef. Yummy.

9:00pm
I sat down to watch the Monday Night Football game. The Seahawks won, which meant I wont $150 bucks at work, as detailed below. And yes, that is my feet in the thier comfy Totes Toasties. And yes, that is the mess that is my apartment.

10:10pm
During halftime, I sorted through some of the clothes I had laundered earlier in the day. These would be the socks and undies.

11:35pm
I talked to Freddie. he told me his schedule for next semester. He told me he and his friends were heading for Wa-Wa to get something to eat (at 11;30 at night...*SIGH* to be in college again). And after we said our "I love you's" and "Goodbyes" I hung up and went to bed.

And that's the day that was the 12th of November, 2007

Think I'll buy me a football team (week 10)...

Well, this weekend went extraordinarily well.

First off, the hated Redskins lost...to the waning Eagles, after pretty much ruling the game until the end. It was a joyous collapse to watch.

Secondly, my Cowboys won, beating the Giants, gaining sole possession of the lead in the NFC North, and going 8-1, tied with Green Bay for the best score in the NFC.

Thirdly, the team i picked in the "losers" pool at work, Cleveland, lost. So I remain in that pool after the first week.

Fourthly, in the bets with Johnnie, I came out ahead 3-2, so not only did I win more this week, I extended my lead over him to 26-15 overall, meaning he owes me $11.

But fifthly, and best of all, there's the winner's pool at work. I've been in the one since the season began 10 weeks ago. And going into this week, there were only 5 of us left. Three picked New Orleans to win, me and another guy picked Seattle. Since New Orleans lost, but Seattle won, that means he and I are still in, and can pick again for next week to win it all, OR, decided to call it and split the winnings in half. I believe we'll both agree to split it, and each take our $150 and be happy. At least I know I will, if he will.

Everything went my way this weekend...couldn't ask for anything better. And I ordered a Tony Romo Football Jersey as well. Not sure when I'll get it, but I'll wear it proudly.

TMITuesdays

1. Have you ever met a fellow blogger in person? Not that I recall. Last year in Toronto, we tried to get together with one, but our schedules couldn't be worked out.
2. Did you ever play an innocent game of "I'll show you mine if you show me yours"? How old where you? Sure did! that worked up through my early teens.
3. When did you get your first not so innocent kiss? I don't recall the first not-so-innocent kiss, but it was probably with Kathy, a girl I went to the prom with in high school. We fooled around a bit. Later, at the 5 year reunion, we both told the other we were gay. Did we laugh.
3a.If your partners are no longer of the opposite sex, when did you get that first kiss? I don't recall the exact time on this one either, but it had to be Jeff, my first regular 'partner' back in high school.
4. Have you ever awoke with someone who's name you did not remember? I'm pretty sure that if I spent the night with them, I knew their name, at least at that time. Don't ask me to remember them all now.
5. Have you ever let someone else wash you while you were perfectly capable of doing it yourself? Hell yeah. Showers for two are quite fun, dontcha think?
Bonus (as in optional): What makes a great first date for you? One that ends with us both being hot, sweaty and exhausted after decadent, toe-curling, wake-the-neighbors sex.

Through the wire we push out tailormade speeches...

Yesterday was Veterans Day. Traditionally, the President places a wreath at the Tomb Of The Unknowns, and gives a speech. Yesterday, Bushie spent the day in Crawford Texas in the middle of a 5 day vacation. He left Dick to make the speech and place the wreath.

This is the man who sent all these guys and gals over to Iraq to fight and die based on lies. He can't even bother to take the time to fly back to DC to honor the veterans. And he's got his own means of transportation, ya know? It surely couldn't have taken more than half a day for him to fly back, get driven to the ceremony, made the speech, presented the wreath, was driven back to the airport and flown back.

But no, Bushie thought it better to go to an American Legion in Waco Texas and give a speech there. And people claim HE supports the troops????
