Black holes and revelations...

One would think that Bill O'Reilly, the great cultural warrior, the hater of "secular progressives" and Godless heathens, would at least know a bit about the Bible. But, as with all things Billo and Faux News, facts are irrlevant when you're on a rant.

On his radio show this week, Billo told a caller, "go to Revelations in the Bible and look at the prediction for the end of the world," telling him, "It's fascinating, because it does involve the Middle East, and it does involve the clash of cultures." O'Reilly continued: "I'm not trying to convert you to be a Bible-thumper. I'm just saying it's an interesting read. This was written -- what? Five thousand years ago? I mean, this is really interesting." (this is from Media Matters", who quoted the transcript. The bold emphasis is mine).

I see. Someone really ought to tell Billo, he who touts the "holy war" we're now in, something about history (again, not something that generally matters to eitehr Billo or the Fox Noise Channel).

Revalations was, to my recollection, written by John. It's what Jesus showed to John after his (Jesus') death. And let's recall that we're all living now in 2007, which means, roughly, give or take several years, 2000 years after the death of Christ.

So taking all this into account, Billo was only about THREE THOUSAND YEARS off in his esitmate. But for Billo, and again, the Faux Noise Channel, that's a pretty good effort.

I'm glad your paying attention. But it is too frustrating for me to watch these inane beings spew their hate and lies. Good catch!

The book of Revelation is what I suppose someone would write if they were stoned out of their mind.

Seriously good stuff in there. Way off but good stuff. I might just go read it again just for a good laugh.

Revelations tells how after 2500 years that Israel will become a nation again. It tells how the city of Jerusalem will be a trouble spot in the world. It tells about a peace treaty that will soon be signed between the Arab world and Israel. It tells how they will break the treaty and almost destroy the Jewish people. It tells about the rise of a world leader who will be assassinated and then brought back to life. It tells of the whole world under his control. Everybody small and great will be forced to receive his mark on their forhead or in the palm of their hand. Finally, it tells how heaven will come down to earth and God will govern from Jerusalem and as Christmas nears we can remember the old song...Then peace shall over all the Earth it's ancient splendor fling and the whole world give back the song which now the angels sing. That's what it's all about Charlie Brown.
