I would not sell my collection, if I did, I would weep (Part 6)...

Today In The History of
Polt's Comic Book Collection

Thirty five years ago, in June 1981, Super Friends #45 was published.

The Super Friends tv show on Saturday morning, got me into the Super Friends comic book in the late 70s, which in turn got me into the Justice League and it was the JLA that I first decided to collect each issue put out.  So, in a sense, the Super Friends started it all for me.  And therefore, they hold a special place in my collection and my heart.

Anyway, I dont remember this issue specifically, but I know it's one I enjoyed, mainly because it starred some members of the The Global Guardians.  They first appeared in Super Friends, and were later merged into the regular DC Comics Universe itself.   And I always enjoyed the concept of a team of international superheroes, which is just what they were.

Anyway, the comic book geek in me can also tell you that the cover artist is Kurt Schaffenberger.  I liked his work, although I always though it was a bit...cartoony.  Still, perfect for The Super Friends though.
