SO...

Last week, I got an email that a comic book store in Shepardstown WV (about a 45 minute drive from my home) was closing and they were having a sale, 50% off.

I contacted a coworker/buddy of mine, Ryan, and asked him if he wanted to go with me after work Saturday.  And he said he did.  So after work Saturday, off we went.  We got down there, I had a number of graphic novels picked out and in my arms, although some of them were gifts.  Ryan asked me which one of those I was I was for sure getting for myself.  And I figured out at least one that I knew was gonna be mine, and he said, "Give it me, I'll buy it for you for your birthday" (which was that same day).  I didn't want to let him do it, but hey, it was something sneaky like I would do.  And I nice gesture and so I let him do it.  I ended up spending 60 some dollars...and that's WITH the 50% off.

Ryan knew a restaurant in town, Blue Moon Cafe.  So we ate there.  And DAMN was it good!  I had the chicken quesadilla, and it was absolutely delicious!  I will definitely at some point in time be eating back there again.  And following this, we went home.

But while I was in the comic store, I was looking at getting something and didn't.  I have 19 graphic novels of Invincible.  I saw there they had 20-24.  But at the time I wasn't sure if I had 20 or not.  So I didn't get any of those.  Ryan said he was probably coming back to get things another time and I said I would too, basically to get those Invincible ones, once I checked what I had here at home.  And when I got home, I saw than 19 was in fact the last one I had.

And then all day yesterday, I was wondering, "did someone else get there and buy them, cause if they're gone, the store's not gonna restock them.  I decided one day this week, I'd just go down after work.

This morning, after Derick came by for some morning bedtimesexxyfun, I ran some errands here around town and then decided, yeah, I'm just gonna drive down now and get them!  So off I went.  I got to the store about 11:30am....and the store didn't open until Noon.  So what the hell was I gonna do for a half hour.  I knew nothing about and no one in Shepardstown.

But then I thought, it's a beautiful little town, and a beautiful sunny, if cool, day.  So I thought I'd take a walk.  And walk I did: 1.29 miles in 24 minutes.

But here's the thing: as I walked, it because clear I had to pee...and couldn't wait.  I honestly though I might piss myself.  On the main street, I ducked into a small bookstore, thinking maybe they'd have a restroom, but didn't.  And there were a few books I was going to stop and look at, maybe get.  But every time I stopped moving, it felt like the urine stream was just gonna start then and there.  So on I went.

Back out on the street, I knew there was no way I was going to not piss in the upcoming few minutes, no matter if I found a bathroom or not.  So, I passed a small cafe, and went in.

It was a very Bohemian, hippie-esque place.  The twink (probably a local college student) behind the counter was a cutie, but I didn't care at that time.  I asked if I could have a bottle of water, and he said they don't have bottles cause it's so wasteful, but he'd hook me up with a cup of water.  I said sure.  I was expecting a paper cup like you get in fast food places, but no, it was an actual glass, and the water was right outta the tap.  And when I asked how much it was, he waved it off, saying nothing.  So I wandered through the cafe, looking at the things on the wall and such and found the restroom. It was a unisex one, and thankfully empty.  So I had sweet, sweet relief.

When I came back out, I finished the drink and I was on my way to return the glass when I thought I should at least buy something since I used the bathroom.  And they had cookies and pastries for sale.  They had "gingerbread dudes", is what they called them, and so I bought of them.  Returned the glass, thanked the guy and headed on out.

I ate the cookie as I made my way back to the comic book store.  And when I got there, it was open.  So in I went. And I got those graphic novels I wanted....and kept looking for other things.  And at the end of my visit there (a half hour visit) this time I spent eighty something bucks.  AFTER the 50% off.  *SIGH*  But part of those were gifts as well, so it's not all bad, I guess....

And then I came home....and got here by 1;30!  So yeah, it was a pretty busy (and expensive) morning!
