Perez Appreciation Post
Today we have the iconic cover of Crisis On Infinite Earths #7, drawn by, of course, the Maestro George Perez. It shows Superman holding the dead Supergirl. That is iconic enough, but in the background on three levels we have a whole host of other DC characters: from Earth-1, Earth-2, Earth-4, Earth-S, and Earth-X; from the 1980s (when the issue was published) to the World War II era, to 1000 years in the future...and beyond. They're not all easily recognizable in this photo, but I assure you, when looking at this cover in person, you can see each and every one is different, and specific, and even though they're background characters and drawn small, you can figure out who each and every one is.
Perez is a comic book artist god!
