Badass Birthday
On this day, in 1758, in Burnham Thorpe, England, Horatio Nelson was born.
Horatio Nelson was a British Royal Navy Officer whose strategic genius, unconventional tactics and amazing leadership skills allowed him to win multiple decisive naval victories in French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. His legendary success at the Battle Of Trafalgar in 1805 solidified Britain's Navy as the best in the world and gave them command of the seas for more then a century.
Admiral Nelson however was killed in the same Battle Of Trafalgar on board his flag ship the HMS Victory, at the ager of 47. He was given a state burial and given his own memorial, Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square, London. In 2002, he was included in the list of the 100 Greatest Britons Of All Time.
