An illustration of the various playable races in D&D, showing their various heights and thicknesses.

Dwarf, Halfling, Elf, Human (though honesty, I've always believed Humans were taller than elves...and elves were much more...whispy than shown  here), Gnome (and honestly again, gnomes are bulkier than shown here, even the females), Half Orc, Half-Elf (half-elves should be taller than elves but smaller than humans).

Actually, these may be from a later version of the game than the one I played, and they change things in every edition., so who knows?

My birthday song, my happy world (Part 382)....

 Badass Birthday

On this date, in 1968 in Wellingborough England, Thom Yorke was born.

Thom Yorke is the lead singer and song writer of the band Radiohead.   Radiohead has received many awards and accolades in their over 35 year career.    They released many amazing songs: Creep, High & Dry, Fake Plastic Trees, Karma Police, No Surprises, Let Down, Optimistic, and Exit Music (For A Film).  Obviously, as a fan of Radiohead, I know and love these and many others.  Those not a fan, probably don't know any other than Creep.    But I gotta tell ya, if there's a reason to be declared a badass, it's whoever wrote and sang "Creep".

I've got books lining my shelves, day and night....

 Books 2026

Today and tomorrow, Bookshop.org is having their anti-Prime day: every order has free sales tax.  And every order, like every time, goes to help local bookstores around the country instead of a huge multinational corporation like Amazon.  So, I ordered three books.  All are by Robert Silverberg.

Darwin

Armando Munoz was born in New York City to a Black father and a Latino mother.  He was a mutant born with the ability of "reactive evolution": his body changes and transform in response to whatever danger he faces.  He took the name Darwin.

Darwin joined the X-Men mythos after I stopped reading them.  My initial introduction to the character was in the movie X-Men: First Class.

This is exactly how I feel.  I'm not anti-Christian, I am a Christian myself.  I am, however, against, those who masquerade as Christians to promote their racist, homophobic, anti-Christian political agenda they constantly push.

Wrapping yourself in Bible verses while totally ignoring what the Bible actually says is what makes me angry.
