Check This Out!

Twenty years ago, on October 11-13, 1996, the AIDS quilt came to the Mall in Washington DC.


I went down with two friends of mine.  It, as you can see, covered the Mall from the Capitol to the Washington Monument. Incredible.

I was almost speechless while visiting,   So many, many quilts.  We went and found quilts of famous people (like Ryan White, the boy from Indiana who died of AIDS and Pedro Zamora from the Real World, among others).  There were so many quilts for children and teens.   It was truly awe inspiring.
