Chapter 12, Page 5....

Saturday, I got to work and had more new clients there than have been normal for Saturdays recently, but still, it wasn't an insane number or anything.  And I got through them all by the early afternoon.  The rest of the day, I putzed around doing a little bit of paperwork and a lot of talking with coworkers and such.

After work, I drove to the ParisPeking household.  I got a bunch of video clips for the Palace Christmas video.  We ate a delicious meal cooked by A Local Celebrity, Mr. David ParisPaking: pork roast, stuffing, mashed potatoes, salad and pumpkin pie for dessert.  Yummy!  Afterwards, I got a few more clips I needed.  Then the adults (including Mr and Mrs ParisPeking, Ghostie and myself) went to the mancave to watch a movie, which turned out be Ted 2.  SIGH.  Ah well, it was was it was.  It was never intended to be Oscar caliber, or anything more then somewhat entertaining.  And it was.

When this was over, I headed home in time to watch the season finale of Doctor Who.  *YAWN*  Seriously, something HAS to change with this show (preferably the guy in charge, Stephen Moffat).  It's just been so....wrong, since he took over.  It's too introspective, too much about The Doctor himself and NOT about The Doctor helping others somewhere in space and time.  It takes itself too seriously.  And when it tries to be 'funny' or 'cool', it fails miserably.  Please, Stephen Moffat, pass the showrunner-ship off to someone else who can do a better job!

Anyway, after the show, I went to bed, read a bit, turned out the light, and then about 11-ish, I turned out the light and went to sleep.

Chapter 12, Page 4...

Friday, got up, showered, to work and did...well some stuff.  Pushed a couple papers around, got caught up on some of the stuff I had been putting off, just had a normal day.

I got home, and a bit later Ghostie showed up.  We filmed quite a bit of this year's Polt's Palace Christmas Video.  We even went to mom's cottage and filmed some there.  Then we went to Montezuma's for some supper, which I paid for, since he was helping me out with all this videography (although I let him pay the tip).  And then we came back to my house and did all the filming we were going to do there.  We chatted a bit and he left.  I was on the computer some and watched TV some, before going to bed.  I was reading, and getting ready to turn out the light.  But didn't.

There's this guy who's blog I've followed for quite some time, I shall call him LD.  LD and I have, in the past few months, been chatting via email, and then more recently, via texts.  So last night, as I'm laying in bed, LD texts me and we start chatting that way.  This leads to him calling me so we can talk (which is easier and more efficient than texting), and BOOM, it's one hour later, and well past the time I should have been trying to go to sleep.  I had to tell him that, and cut the conversation short.  But I'm sure we'll talk again soon.

LD is fascinating to me.  He and I have like totally opposite backgrounds and histories (well except for a shared love of comic books as a kid) and life experiences, but yet we communicate so well.  Perhaps it's because of how different we are that we get along so well?  I dont know, I'm just glad we started emailing/texting/talking, cause he is a very interesting guy and I enjoy our interactions.

Anyway, after we hung up, I turned out the light and soon went to sleep.

Chapter 12, Page 3...

Thursday work was, well, work.  I got the paperwork finished that needed to be done.  I also got a new office chair.  The old one (which is about 6-8 years old) had a screw fall out of it, but I found the screw, where it belonged, and put it back in.  But something else fell from under the seat, and the sear was listing a bit to the right.  Not a good thing.  I talked to the supply person about ordering me a new chair, but she said the company could possibly fix it for free.  She had me bring her the old chair and gave me a spare new one until the old one is fixed...unless I like the new one better.  And ya know, I think I do. So I shall keep it, I think.

After work, I didn't do much at all.  I came home, wasted some time here.  Then later I drove to the post office to mail some letters and then to Wal-Mart to return something and get a few other things.  I then settled in to watch the Thursday night football game.  I walked until halftime, and then went to bed, since Detroit was beating up all on the Packers.  I figured the game was over.  Only the following day on the way to work, did I hear on the radio, that Green Bay had come back and won the game on a last second Hail Mary pass caught for a touchdown!  Exciting.  If only I had been awake to see it.

Someone book me a room (Part 337)...

Chapter 12, Page 2...

Wednesday, when the alarm went off, I got out of bed to use the bathroom, and my back was still tight.  I called in and told them I'd be to work about 9, and I spent the next hour or so eating Advil and trying to loosen my back up.  Then I showered, dressed and got to work a bit before 9.

Work wasnt too bad. I had the normal weekly paperwork to get done, but since I was off Tuesday, I had less time this week to do that same work.  Still I got done what I needed to get done.  It was a pretty decent day actually.

After work, I came home, dropped my stuff off, put on comfy shoes, and headed back out.  Out to mom's.  When I got there, we talked just a lil bit and then headed out to the dining hall.  We had dinner there, both of us getting the fish and chips, which were both delicious.  And the cole slaw was great too!  The food there is really good all the time!

After this, we went back to her cottage and decorated her tree.  At the house over the last few years, she only put up a small LCD light tree, about 18 inches tall, so she didn't have to do any decorating.  But now that she's out at the cottage, she went to the thrift store out there and bought a four foot tree for like $4.  She put it up on a table in her living room and that's what we were decorating.  Well it came with the lights attached, so we didn't have to do that.  But there were strings of beads we strung.  And then mom had a shoebox filled with ornament she had made.  Little lace bows, bows made of ribbons, etc.  All in pink and light blue, which were also the colors of the beads.  And we got it all decorated before too much time passed.

Earlier in the week, she had bought two small endtables, and we put those together also.  And then I decided to just come on home.  When I got here I putzed around on the computer a bit, and then turned everything off and went to bed.  I read a lil bit, and then turned out the light and went to sleep.

Chapter 12, Page 1...

So since I had called in and taken off this day already, I slept in.  Until like 10-ish.  My back was bothering me still a bit, so I basically spent the day on the couch, watching the last of Jessica Jones, and eating Advil.  That helped with that pain.  I also did manage to get a few gifts wrapped, which is very surprising, since I dont even usually have gifts bought this early.  I also changed the bedsheets.

At 5, I walked across the street to my dentist had had my teeth cleaned.  Soon thereafter, I walked to the Waynesburger and got a burger and chili to go.  Returning home, I ate it, and then just putzed around online until it was time for Agents of SHIELD.  Following this, i went to bed, read a short bit and then went to sleep.

Chapter 11, Page 30...

My oh my what a day.  There had been a vibration in the front of my car when I braked for a little while. I got a front end alignment, but that didn't help.  So I made an appointment with the dealership I had taken it to earlier in the year for the gas tank trouble, and that appointment was today.  At 8:30am!  What the what?  yeah, THAT early.

SO, I got up about 7:30, showered, dressed, and by then mom was here,   She followed me over to the dealership in Hagerstown where I dropped it off.  The guy working there, Don, is great.  He took my info and told me he'd call me when they knew what the issue was and before they did any work on it.  And then I got in mom's car...and off we went!

To Denny's for breakfast.  Then to Big Lots for some shopping.  And then to Ollie's for more shopping.  And then to Sam's for even more shopping.  Next we drove to Micheal's for...well you get the idea.  And then to Target.  And The Christmas Tree Store.  And Kohls.  Then we went to the Valley Mall, where I just checked in one specific store for something, which they didn't have and then we ate at Long John Silvers. After this, we drove to 2nd And Charles (the used book store).

When we were done there it was about 2:30, so I called the dealership so see what the status of the car was.  Don told me he just got back from lunch and was just going to call me.  It was the rotors and the pads (maybe, I forget), but that they had the parts and could fix it now.  He told me it would take about and hour and a half and cost about $298.  So I said sure, go ahead.  He also told me there was a recall on the front coils, but they had to order them.  And when they came in, they'd call me and we could schedule and appointment to get them replaced, of course, free of charge.  I said sure to that too.

So having an hour and a half to waste, mom and I went to a nearby strip mall.  I hung out at Wonder Book And Video, another used bookstore.  She visited a shoe store, the Dollar Store and a grocery store too.  After I perused the isles for about an hour and found a few books, I called her and got her on the phone.  She was in the grocery store.  I wanted to car keys cause I wanted to just sit in there and wait.

See, ever since my dad's viewing back in 2007, when I stood for three hours, my lower back becomes achy whenever I stand for long periods.  While I wasn't standing continuously, I did a LOT of standing and walking and now my lower back was simply killing me.

So I got the keys and waited in the car until she showed up.  Then even though only and hour had passed we decided to just go to the dealership and wait for the car to be done.  We got there, parked, she went into the waiting room and I went back to the service area.  I spoke to Don and told him I knew it wasn't ready yet, but I just wanted to let him know we were here and waiting.  And Don said it WAS, in fact, ready, and it came in UNDER what he had quoted me, $246.  So yeah, that was ALL good.

I paid for it, got the car, parked next to mom's, went to get her, and we pulled all my stuff, all the bags of stuff, out of her car and into mine.  And then I came home.  When I got here, I unloaded the bags, and took my bag full of Christmas cards and drove over to the Post Office, where I mailed them.  Then I got a few things at the grocery store, and came home.

I had also, because my back was bothering me before, and actually still was, called in and taken Tuesday off work, using the holiday I worked on the Day After Thanksgiving.  So when i got home, I settled on the couch, putzed around on the computer and watched the NFL pregame show and then some of the game.

Later in the evening, like after halftime, my router, which has been giving me fits for a few weeks, got worse.  And so I said fuck it.  I had bought a new router over the weekend, and this night, at like 10pm or so, I replaced the old router with the new one.  And everything worked peachy keen.  I then went to bed, read some, and then went to sleep.
