Someone book me a room (Part 335)...

Chapter 11, Page 30...

My oh my what a day.  There had been a vibration in the front of my car when I braked for a little while. I got a front end alignment, but that didn't help.  So I made an appointment with the dealership I had taken it to earlier in the year for the gas tank trouble, and that appointment was today.  At 8:30am!  What the what?  yeah, THAT early.

SO, I got up about 7:30, showered, dressed, and by then mom was here,   She followed me over to the dealership in Hagerstown where I dropped it off.  The guy working there, Don, is great.  He took my info and told me he'd call me when they knew what the issue was and before they did any work on it.  And then I got in mom's car...and off we went!

To Denny's for breakfast.  Then to Big Lots for some shopping.  And then to Ollie's for more shopping.  And then to Sam's for even more shopping.  Next we drove to Micheal's for...well you get the idea.  And then to Target.  And The Christmas Tree Store.  And Kohls.  Then we went to the Valley Mall, where I just checked in one specific store for something, which they didn't have and then we ate at Long John Silvers. After this, we drove to 2nd And Charles (the used book store).

When we were done there it was about 2:30, so I called the dealership so see what the status of the car was.  Don told me he just got back from lunch and was just going to call me.  It was the rotors and the pads (maybe, I forget), but that they had the parts and could fix it now.  He told me it would take about and hour and a half and cost about $298.  So I said sure, go ahead.  He also told me there was a recall on the front coils, but they had to order them.  And when they came in, they'd call me and we could schedule and appointment to get them replaced, of course, free of charge.  I said sure to that too.

So having an hour and a half to waste, mom and I went to a nearby strip mall.  I hung out at Wonder Book And Video, another used bookstore.  She visited a shoe store, the Dollar Store and a grocery store too.  After I perused the isles for about an hour and found a few books, I called her and got her on the phone.  She was in the grocery store.  I wanted to car keys cause I wanted to just sit in there and wait.

See, ever since my dad's viewing back in 2007, when I stood for three hours, my lower back becomes achy whenever I stand for long periods.  While I wasn't standing continuously, I did a LOT of standing and walking and now my lower back was simply killing me.

So I got the keys and waited in the car until she showed up.  Then even though only and hour had passed we decided to just go to the dealership and wait for the car to be done.  We got there, parked, she went into the waiting room and I went back to the service area.  I spoke to Don and told him I knew it wasn't ready yet, but I just wanted to let him know we were here and waiting.  And Don said it WAS, in fact, ready, and it came in UNDER what he had quoted me, $246.  So yeah, that was ALL good.

I paid for it, got the car, parked next to mom's, went to get her, and we pulled all my stuff, all the bags of stuff, out of her car and into mine.  And then I came home.  When I got here, I unloaded the bags, and took my bag full of Christmas cards and drove over to the Post Office, where I mailed them.  Then I got a few things at the grocery store, and came home.

I had also, because my back was bothering me before, and actually still was, called in and taken Tuesday off work, using the holiday I worked on the Day After Thanksgiving.  So when i got home, I settled on the couch, putzed around on the computer and watched the NFL pregame show and then some of the game.

Later in the evening, like after halftime, my router, which has been giving me fits for a few weeks, got worse.  And so I said fuck it.  I had bought a new router over the weekend, and this night, at like 10pm or so, I replaced the old router with the new one.  And everything worked peachy keen.  I then went to bed, read some, and then went to sleep.
