So this is a Dolly Parton Lookalike Contest In Phoenix in 1979.
Surely most people have heard about the time Dolly entered a Dolly Parton Lookalike Contest herself. She put on a bigger wig, caked the makeup on thicker and entered...and she LOST!
But the part of the story that's not told too often is that this contest was in a gay bar and most of the other contestants were drag queens!
MAGA might like to claim Dolly since she was from Tennessee and spoke with that Southern accent and all, but even without ever explicitly stating her politics, Dolly Parton was the anti-MAGA!
