On this date in 1917 in Harlem NYC, Isabel Sanford was born.
Isabel Sanford's career has encompassed the stage, the silver screen and TV. What makes her a badass is her iconic role on All In The Family and then The Jeffersons as Louise "Weezy" Jefferson. She was the wife of the bombastic George Jefferson. She starred on the series that ran for 10 years.
Her role also earned her, in 1981, earned her an Emmy award, being on the second African-American actress to do so, AND the first ever African-American actress to earn the Outstanding Lead Actress In A Comedy Series!
She passed away in 2004, at the age of 87.
