Badass Birthday
On this date, 101 years ago in 1925, in Iowa, Johnny Carson was born.
Johnny Carson was the host of The Tonight Show for 30 years, from 1962 to 1992. He is widely, and justly, regarded as the King Of Late Night Television. This alone is reason enough to make him a badass, but in addition, he has received 6 Emmy Awards, induction into the Television Hall Of Fame in 1987, a Presidential Medal of Honor in 1992 and a Kennedy Center Honors in 1993.
He passed away in early 2005 at the age of 79. But he laid the groundwork and became the icon for ALL the TV talk shows that followed.
