BITS-N-PIECES

Tried the new salsa.  It is awful.  It's thick like paste, and just...icky tasting.  Not gonna be eating that.  Gonna have to check around at other stores and see if they have the kind I like.  Also, at work today, I tried one of the berry teas I got as a replacement for the tea I liked.  This stuff made me gag.  Gonna be checking other stores for that too.

Ten years ago, I worked at Borders with a kid named Scott, who I called Poodle, cause he's small, always moving, and talked a LOT....kinda like a cute lil Poodle.  Well anyway, 8 or so years back, he moved to Los Angeles.  I saw on his Facebook he was DC for Pride last weekend!  Course, we didn't run into each other.  But now he tells me he's moving back to near DC, so he's sure we'll see each other again.  Not sure what the circumstances are, but it'll be nice seeing him again.

So far this month, I've walked on 8 different days, for a total of 4.9 hours and a total distance of 16.69 miles!

The flowers in the front garden are NOT doing well.  They just dont seem to be growing.  Last year, they went insane bonkers crazy growing.  I've got three planters on the porch wall, one with purple and white flowers, one with red flowers, and one with a variety.  Those flowers ARE going crazy nuts when it comes to growing.  I dont know what the deal is.

I've made of the photo of Josh, me, Travis and Paul from Pride my desktop on my laptop.  And I just noticed tonight, in it, I've got myself draped over the two young, hot guys!  Totally inadvertent, I assure you. but still, not a BIT surprising, is it?

Mom has a parking space next to her house about the size of one in a typical parking lot.  This morning she re-tarred it.  She does this every other year or so.  She had it all roped off to keep people off.  She called me at work this afternoon to tell me that people were staying off, but not Angel.  Mom tried to keep her off of it, but Angel darted on it and got it all over her paws.  And when mom yelled at her, she stepped further into it.  So mom had to spend considerable amount of time cleaning it all off her paws and then smoothing over that portion again.  I was up there on my walk and noticed two or three small little Angle-sized pawprints on the sidewalk, and had to laugh.

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes....

I'm not opposed to change, necessarily, but some piss me off.  Like today, I went to my favorite local grocery, the store that has EVERYTHING I need, and a bunch of stuff I've never even heard of.

And there was NO Lipton Mixed Berry Green Tea!  What?  They got rid of ALL the Lipton Green Teas, except the basic, original no flavor added version.  Blech.  So I had to get some other brand's Berry Blast Green Tea.  Guess we'll see if it's close.

Then, I'm going to get some salsa, and they no longer have the Tostitos Restaurant Style.  WTF?  The regular salsa is too damn chunky, the restaurant style had smaller pieces of stuff in it and was much more liquidy.  So what now?  I guess it's freakin' chunky salsa now.  Blech.

Maybe I could check a different store, we'll see.  But that would be an unnecessary change as well.  *SIGH*

THURSDAY THREE

So, what made this past week particularly awesome?

Well DUH it was Pride!  But more specifically...

1) Hanging out with Paul and Travis!

And Josh too for that matter!  Three awesome gay guys who all contributed (along with the Straight Ladies Auxiliary of StratCat and CC) to THE.  Best.  Gay.  Pride. Parade.  Experience.  EVAH!  And getting to hang out with Paul again was great cause I didn't really get to talk to him much the first time.  And getting to hang out with Travis for the first (but hopefully not last) time, was great cause he's such a blast.  And taking Josh to his first ever Pride Parade!  Love it!  I still remember my first, and fondly think of Carl and Harley who got me there.  And now Josh will always have these great memories!

2) The Parade itself!

 

Oh, the Parade!  The half nekkid men!  The multi-color bead necklaces!  The cute kids and puppies!  The half-nekkid men!  The drag queens!  Gay cops!  The half-nekkid men! The candy!  The condoms!  The half-nekkid men!  The costumes!  The laughter! The half-nekkid men! The Dancing Cowboys! The floats! The half-nekkid men!  The fun!  The picture taking! The half-nekkid men!  The male stippers and go-go dancers!! PFLAG!  Oh, and did I mention the half-nekkid men?  EVERYTHING is better with half-nekkid men!

3) Getting to The Lodge!

Thanks for Paul and Travis, I FINALLY made it up to The Lodge, even though it's been there for like a year and a half.  And man, was it amazing!  Paul and Travis both agreed it totally kicked the ass of any of the clubs around where they live on Long Island.  And the music was, honestly, the best I had ever heard at any local club.  And now, I'm itching to go back.  So I might finally get back into the swing of things locally!

So, even if you didn't make it to the DC Pride Parade, what made your week a little bit more FABulous than it may have otherwise been?

So tonight, I had a planned rendezvous with a certain gentleman who shall remain nameless.  After this, we took his car to the mechanic, and I drove him to his place.  I then stopped on the way home, got gas and supper.  But when I got home, before I could eat it, I got a surprise visitor.

COREY!

Yep, he stopped by because he had a surprise for me.  He said "It's not much, but I saw it online and as soon as I did, I knew I HAD to order it for you!"  And then he showed it to me.

Superman socks!  WITH a cape attached to each!!!!  SEE!

Are they not the awesome-est?  Certainly, they're the super-est!  LOVE them!

We talked for about a half hour.  He said he spent the weekend with his girlfriend (who, when he texted her that he was at my place, texted back "Up, up and away!"  LOVE her!) at her parents' place near the beach in Delaware.  He found a store there packed full of action figures, some in the boxes, some laying loose.  And he searched all through to try to find something for me as well, but he couldn't find anything.  Now how sweet is he?  He already had the super socks, and he was still looking for an action, just because.  Awww.

Anyway, we talked about maybe hanging out this weekend, depending on his schedule.  Which I hope we can do.  Love hanging out with Corey. Cause ya know, he's cute, funny, friendly, AND he gives me surprise gifts!

These two guys were riding on the top of the truck pulling this float, and they stood up and started making out.  StratCat got this good photo of them in the midst of it, bless her and her perfect photo taking abilities!
