Monday, Monday, ah ah, ah ah ah ah....

So this was my Monday.

I got up at 745 AM....on my freakin' day off!  Why?  No not for a nameless hookup, not for working some overtime, not to help a friend move.  No, I had a doctor's appointment.

I knew the results of the bloodwork wouldn't be that great, as I've gone off the diet I was on and because of the horrific heat back in July, I got out of my walking schedule.  But thankfully, she told me my A1C rose to 7.4, from 7.1 where is it was in June.  So the increase is NOT good, BUT on the upside, it wasn't such a terrible rise (remember back in March my A1C was 9.2).  So basically we talked about how I'm gonna get back to doing what I was doing before.  And she looked at my left foot (it's been aching occasionally right at the base of the second toe, on the bottom of the foot).  She said it wasn't gout and didn't appear to be a hairline fracture.  She said she was leaning towards some kind of arthritis, which is where I was leaning too.  But she sent me for an x-ray just to officially rule out a fracture.  Haven't heard about that yet though.

Afterwards, I eat breakfast at Denny's.  Then I came home and mom and I finished painting my bathroom.  What used to be a mostly all white bathroom, is now a blue up top, purple on the bottom, white trimmed bathroom.  And I LOVE it. Here's a pic:

After finishing this, we went to a mall cause I wanted to get a new pair of work shoes, but couldn't find anything I wanted, and then I bought Mom lunch at Bonanza.  Well, we ate at like 3:00PM, so it was a late lunch/early supper.

Following this, I came home, washed eight rugs, took a half hour nap, and then settled in to watch some TV and putz around online.  And now I'm sitting here, drinking some tea, watching some football and updating the Palace.  All in all, I think it was a productive day.  It feels productive, cause I feel tired.  Probably will go to bed before too much longer.

Hope your Monday went well too.

I predict a sunny day, full of light and sun....

So, I haven't posted too much about politics (unlike 2008, when every other day seemed to be one).  But this year, eh, not so much.  See, honestly, I'm disappointed in Obama, because I don't think he's done enough.  He's not been progressive enough.  I wish there had been another Democrat, a true left progressive for me to vote for.  But when my options come down to Obama and anyone from the clown-car-to-crazy-ville that WAS the 2012 Republican primary season....well that's a no brainer.

And now, the last one standing, the least nutty of all the nutbags (and just for shits and giggles, let's run through the lineup one last time.  Front-runners were, in the order I recall, Donald Trump, Michelle Bachmann, Rick Perry, Newt Gingrich, Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich again, and then Rick "I've got my own UrbanDictionary entry (go look it up)" Santorum.) And after outlasting all those assorted knuckleheads (and knuckledraggers), we end up with the most reasonable sounding, and least able to rouse the passion of the Republican base, Mitt Romney.

Is is just me, or does he bear a striking resemblance to a young Thurston Howell III?

Seriously, people.  Any man who says, "Corporations are people too, my friend" and "My wife drives a couple of Cadillacs" and "I got several friends who are NASCAR owners" and who gets a $77,000 tax deduction for a horse in the Olympics while trying to cut taxes even further on millionaires and pay for them on the backs of the Middle Class average working man....any man who says and does those things....how am I supposed to take him seriously as a candidate?

I'm not against the uber-rich.  God knows I love to find a cute, hot, rich young gay boy multi-millionaire who likes fat, old, hairy fags, marry him and live a life of luxury (ignoring for the moment, Mitt and the Republicans would deny me the right to do that).  But I'm against the arrogant wealthy.  Those the don't care about the common man.  Let's not forget, the Franklin Roosevelt AND John Kennedy both came from hordes of money.  But they didn't try to destroy the Middle Class so they could get more money.  They were good Democrats, and we just don't do that.  If a Democrat wants to do that, he usually becomes a Republican.

So yeah, I'll be voting for Obama in two months (assuming of course, the Republican state legislature and governor here in my state haven't found yet another way to change the rules to ensure I'm not able to do that).

And my prediction, not that anyone's asked, is in the popular vote, Obama wins it by 2-3% overall.  But popular votes don't matter (just ask Al Gore about that).  What matters is the Electoral College vote.  And by my learned calculation, it looks like this: Obama 332, Romney 206 (although if the Romney somehow gets the electoral votes from "Hanging Chad" Florida, then my count is Obama 303, Romney 235).

Feel free to print it out and save it for Election Night to see how right, or wrong, I was.

Call me in three months time, I'll be fine (Part 23)...

Thursday Three (x2)
or
The Thursday Six

Since I didn't post one of these last week, I thought I'd just post double the amount today, to make up for it.

1) Friends

It's great to find out just exactly how many friends you have and who they are.  I already mentioned this, but they're all worthy of a second mention.  Friends like truthspew, who helped me diagnose computer issues over the phone and then suggested remedies.  And StratCat, who spent 5 hours of her time getting my computer back up and running (I'd say she helped me do it, but we both know I did little more than sit there and worry and stress).  And friends like Michelle and ALCMDPP who, whether they knew it or not, took my mind off of things and gave me something else to do and listened to me whine and moan and vent and were just what I needed at that point.  Friends like these are like diamonds: rare, irreplacable and worth so much more than they initally appear.

2) Fall weather

After a bad storm on Saturday afternoon, the humidity we had been having disappeared, the temps dropped into cool, lovely autumn ranges, the sky was a beautiful crystal blue with puffy white clouds in it and the weather has been incredible.  And it's stayed that way ever since!  I LOVE Autumn, it's my favorite season, and I love that it's here now.  I just hope, in two weeks or so, we're not BACK to 95 degress and similar humidity again.  Even for a short bit.

3) Football

Along with autumn temps comes FOOTBALL!  I love professional football.  In September, I only really care about the games Dallas and Washington are playing.  As the season progresses, like into November, then I watch each and every game I can.  As the weather cools, my interest in football increases.  But it's still great to have some games to watch!

4) Having a working computer again

I got the Blue Screen Of Death Thursday afternoon.  I didn't have a working computer again until Monday night.  And even though I had my iPhone (thank GOD) and could stay connected, it isn't the same.  It's like losing an appendage or something.  Just so glad it's fixed and running normal! (so far)

5) Doctor Who

Glad he's back.  Always entertaining.  I liked "Dinosaurs In Space" (or whatever it was called) MUCH more than the season premiere.  I may do a seperate post on this, but the first one was too cerebral (too much crap happening inside someone's head).  The Dinosaurs one had what I've always loved about the Doctor: humor, adventure, tied in somehow to prior Doctor Who mythos, good old fashioned evil adversary that's easy to boo and hate, and some surprise plots twists thrown in.  Hopefully, the rest of the season will be more like the second episode and not the first.

6) Hardcore Gay Pornography

I don't really have a sixth thing to put here, so I'll just rely on that old trusted stand-by: Hardcore Gay Pornography!  Can't go wrong with that.

Bits-N-Pieces

There's some things I want to get caught up on from the last week.

Last Wednesday, the first game of the 2012 NFL season was played, Dallas at the Giants.  And of course I watched it.  Enjoyed it, I did, especially since Dallas won.  And especially since I enjoyed it with a bottle of Asti.  And my little Dallas football that, when punched, plays a few little snippets of pro-Dallas music.  I use it every time they score a touchdown.

**********************************************
Friday night I went with my friend Michelle to eat with some of her co-workers.  We ate at the Schmankerl Stube.  Had a great meal, and a better time with Michelle's friends.  And I suppose my new friends as well.  And one of the best parts was the beer sampler.  Five different kinds of beer, from light to dark, just giving you a taste of what they have.  Here's a photo of the beer sampler:

Yummy!  Delish.  the whole entire night.
**********************************************
There are tons and tons of bunnies in my backyard.  They run all over the yards back there and around the alleys.  There were several adult bunnies and a bunch of adorable little baby ones.  I try to get photos of them, but then tend to not stay in one place too long.  One morning, though, I did manage to get one sitting in the parking area.  I didn't get terribly close, but he sat there for me posing the entire time.

*********************************************
One of the times Jayson and I ate at the Chinese Buffet in town (he liked it so we went twice), I got the following fortune:

And don't forget to add "In bed." behind it.  Jayson and I never forget to do just that.
*********************************************
If anyone can find a batch of these for me anywhere, my birthday and Christmas are coming up.  And I could SO use this.  At both work AND everyday life!

*********************************************
I truly HATE it when people do this:

Like YOUR car is SO much more important than anyone else's.  Honestly, everytime I see someone parked this way, it makes me want to just walk by and key the damn thing as I go.  Just because.  Arrogant idiots.
********************************************
Sometimes a picture says everything without saying anything at all.

*******************************************
And of course, the Obligatory Bits-N-Pieces Eye Candy.
