My totally unscientific, just simply gut-feeling, predictions about tonight's election outcomes:

House: Republicans 230, Democrats 205
Senate: Democrats 52, Republican 48 (this puts Independents in the party they're most likely to caucus with)

While I wouldn't be surprised if it's worse than this, I highly doubt it'll be any better.

Actually I was reading today that the polls could be way off because most polling is done via landline telephone.

Lots of people have ditched landlines in favor of cell phones. So there's a whole segment of their potential sample pool that they entirely miss.

Yeah, I heard that too. but a lot of the people with just cellphones are, i think, generally younger people, and those are usually ones that don't vote in primaries anyway, so maybe it's not that big of an issue.

Although, as an aside, I only have a cellphone and I'm pretty passionate about all this, so who knows? :)
