Ding dong, the witch is dead, the wicked witch is dead...

Well no, really, she's not. Nor is she really wicked. And she's not a witch, although she always was something that rhymes with witch.

Friday was to be Bossy Know-It-All Coworker's last day at work. However, at the end of the day Thursday she went to our boss, turned in her keys and ID and told him everything else is her office is for her replacement and that was her last day. Surprised us all.

Others said she did it so we all wouldn't see her crying when she was leaving. The other person in my department and I both know her better and know that's not the reason. See, throughout the years, she took it upon herself to throw big retirement parties when people retired...as long as they were her friends. If someone retired that wasn't her friend, well she probably contributed to the goodbye gift, but she did nothing. Only thing is, she's the last of her friends to leave. So there was no one interested in planning a big retirement party for her. So, we both believe that she figured since she wasn't going to leave in a manner to which she felt entitled, she was just going to leave suddenly. It's typical of her.

But regardless of HOW she left, all that matters is that she DID! Friday at work was such a...well, honestly a relief. I felt like a large weight had been lifted off my shoulders. Like a dark cloud had disapated over our department.

It's not as if BKC had even DONE anything TO me, no that wasn't her way. She was sneaky and conniving and back stabbing. She wouldn't do anything to your face, she'd slink around behind your back and do things. And you never knew when she was gonna do something. That's the constant stress that she caused in our department. But with her not there Friday, it was basically stress free. Certainly stress free in comparison to before she left.

Oh it was busy, and a bit hectic. And Saturday certainly was both as well. And until they hire someone else and we get that person trained, it's going to continue to be busy and hectic. But at least it was NOT BKC-induced stressful in addition to the busy and hecticness.

After working there over 14 years, I finally won't have to be watching my back and looking over my shoulder all the time. I finally won't have to worry about someone running to the bosses and whining like a toddler throwing a temper tantrum to get her own way. Finally, my entire department will be working together as a team, and not one butting heads with the other two and demanding her own way.

Finally.

And thank God it happened not a moment to soon!

Congratulations! What a great way to end the year - she certainly sounded like a major drag.

Yep, the time honored practice of waiting the bastards out. Works every time!
