An update: I'm back to typing on the old computer.  The new one is fine, there's no problem with it.  It's just that yesterday afternoon we started downloading all my stuff off of Carbonite, and as of first thing this morning, it was at 10%.  So I've put the new computer up right next  to the router and am letting it send all that stuff there.  And in the meantime, I'll continue to work off the old one, until either this one dies or the backup gets completed.

Wow - $60 per year, for less than double that you can get an external 4tb drive.

That's what I do - external drive and I use Macrium Reflect to do backup dumps. I like having that ability - plus it does a bit image which means I can create a bootable image from it. Install it as a virtual machine on my next machine and voila, best of all worlds.

Then I also have Zoolz on the machine too. Got in under the freebie beta side. But it's $2 per month or $24 per year.
