SO.....

Earlier this week, I was sick with a stomach bug.  It came over me all of a sudden at work on Tuesday.  I was in the middle of something, attempted to get it done, but in the end, just had to leave.  Spent the rest of the day on the couch or in the bathroom.  I was off work Wednesday for the same reason doing the same thing.

Thursday, I wasn't sick, but I was physically drained and exhausted.  I went to work to complete what I was in the middle of Tuesday, and to do a few other things that needed to be done.  But with how tired I felt, I left at two, came home and laid on the couch watching tv.  I took a short nap and when I woke up, I felt not tired anymore.  It was quite refreshing. I even had my appetite back.

But last night, Dallas was playing on Thursday Night Football...and Dallas' victory wasn't assured until the last two minutes, so I was up until about midnight watching the game.  And then i had to get up today and go to work, because I was going to be the only person there from my department today.

And of COURSE, it was batshit crazy at work today....naturally.  And I was tired from being sick and lack of sleep.  And it really wasn't a great day.

And because of all this....that's why I having updated the blog since Tuesday.  The daily stuff is all caught up now though.  I hope to resume regular posting over the weekend.

Living in a state of constant changing...

So I mailed off my Christmas cards today.  And when the mail came, I received my first Christmas card of the year.  Im not the only one who mails them early.

But as I was dropping them in the slots at the Post Office, I got to thinking of all the places I send Christmas cards to.  And I made this map:

It does not include the cards going to Canada and England.  I count 17 states, and DC.  Compare this with the map of the states that I've actually physically set foot in:

I count 15 states, and DC.  And for no reason in particular (other than the fact I like to fool with color in maps of the USA), here are the states I've been to more than once:

Just 7 states, and DC.  Not sure what all this means, but what does it say that I send cards to more states than I've actually visited?

The app on my phone who tracks my walking sent me a message today.  In November I walked 10 times.  I walked 16.42 miles in 3.99 hours.

Not the best, but it's been a lot worse before too.

My desk calendar at work has a pretty tough job.  It not only has to sit under all the papers and forms that I'm filling out, but it's got to track all the stuff I do each day, as well as various reminders.  Also, if my pen is running out of ink, it gets the pen run all over it in lil circles until the ink comes on through.  There's also a few food stains (cause I eat lunch at my desk) and coffee cups stains.  As well as sometimes, coffee or soda spillage.

Don't believe me?  Here, take a look.

I've got books lining my shelves, day and night....

Today, I took a trip to Frederick for a few things I needed there at Barnes & Noble.  Ran into Big Joe and his lovely wife Kelly (used to work with both of them in Borders, like 12 years ago).  And I bought books (imagine that).  I got 6 books, and, with tax, it came out to $120 exactly!  I'd feel guilty about spending so much, except that some of them are gifts, so the amount I actually spent on me is less than that.  But I'll still include all books in my count, cause, well, they ARE books and I DID buy them.
