Life goes by pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. - Ferris, Ferris Bueller's Day Off

And folks just called him the reverend...

NOTE: I wrote this at work earlier in the week. I actually forgot I had done so, and I'm posting it just now.

I’ve held off on writing about this because I hoped it would just go away, as it should. Yet now, a week later, its still being talked about. So I might as well throw my two cents in.

The use of Rev. Wright as some sort of bogeyman that's gonna drag Obama down is despicable.
It is despicable first and foremost because it is all about guilt by assocation. A friend of Obama, his pastor, said some controverstial things, and because of that, somehow Obama himself now should not be president. Even after he’s repudiated what Rev. Wright said.

If this is the criteria we’re going to use, then let’s not forget that McCain took the endorsement of Rev. John "The Catholic Church is the Great Whote" Hagee, AND Rev. "America was founded to destory Islam" Paisley. And McCain has not repudiated either what THEY said, or the men themselves.

Again, is this double standard in place because ones a Democrat and ones a Republican, or because one’s black and one’s white? Or just why exactly is is okay for McCain to have the support of crazy preachers, but not Obama?

Furthermore, if anyone gets beyond the hype and actaully looks what is said, Rev Wright said that America was in trouble because of things we did in the past, problems we caused, because we’ve spread too much hate around the world. Hagee’s buddy Pat Robertson (guilty by assocation, dontcha know?), said America’s in trouble because we tolerate gays, lesbians, feminists and abrotionist…in other words, we’re in trouble because we don’t hate enough. We need to hate gays, lesbians, feminist, and abortionists MORE, and then God will go back to blessing us. And Paisley has said that we tolerate Muslims too much now, we don’t hate Muslims enough, we need to hate them MORE for God to bless us. So who actually is preaching the hate here?

And finally, in the end, this is the argument made by those using Rev. Wright: Obama might come up with a plan to get us out of Iraq, he might come up with a plan to help us in out national health care crisis, he may come up with a way to improve the economy, or lower our budget deficit, or help with the financial crisis, or a host of other things BUT, since a friend of his, NOT Obama himself, but a friend of his, said some things that I find controversial, well, Obama may not be "American" enough to be president and I can’t vote for him.

What a load of crap. The whole thing is a straw man argument. It’s pointless, and it’s a distraction from the real issues we need to be talking about, and it’s straight out of the Republican/Karl Rove playbook. What worries me also is that it’s release might very well have originated with the Clinton campaign. Yet another reason I’m supporting Obama over her.

See the nice boys dancing in pairs, golden earring...

I watched Torchwood (you think I'm gonna let the flu make me miss that?) before going to bed. And this scene took place near the end of the episode.

I LOVE this show. Love to see it done in America...but much like Fawlty Towers and Absolutely Fabulous, it probably wouldn't translate well to American tv. Course, Queer As Folk transferred rather well, and the guy who did QasF is having something to do with Torchwood, so who knows.....

I said, "Walk." Not "March like a weird little troll." - Carson, Queer Eye For The Straight Guy

Never made much sense, been chasin' bunnies like a dummy...

I'm sick again. Blech.

Started yesterday with a tickle in my throat and a dry nagging cough last night. Took some Nyquil to sleep. Slept real good, but day-um, that stuff gives me freaky dreams! This one involved a bunch of bloodthristy zombies invading my town, running across a church parking lot to get away from then, attempting to rescue my mother, having one of my companions get bitten, and we had to shove him outside before he fully became a zombie, cause if he became a zombie inside with us, hed attack us. Oh the guilt over having to do that, and hearing him plead on the outside to be let back in.

....I don't know if I want to take anymore of that Nyquil.....

Today, got the body aches and fever....taking cold pills and cough syrup, and drinking orange juice and a lot of water. I hate feeling like this...but I hate having the horrendously bad sore throat I had last time even worse. And so far, i don't have that. And i hope I don't get it.

Nonetheless, even though I'm ill, that's not gonna stop me from wishing you all a Happy Easter (those that celebrate it), and posting some bunny photos for all of you!

Any of them wanna come hippity-hopping down MY bunny trail, they are MORE than welcome!

See, even if you don't celebrate Easter, you can enjoy the photos. I'm always thinking about my readers...of all religious persuasions.

Tomorrow, its off for a family thing, which I'm wary of going to because of how I feel. I was supposed to make deviled eggs (the only thing I CAN make), and I hard boiled the eggs last night. but with me being all sick and stuff, I thought it best not to try to make any food. So I got the eggs to mom, she's gonna make them. God love her. I'm gonna post this, and then go to bed. With the Nyquil....maybe I'll have just as freaky dreams, but with less zombies, and more bunnies...like in the photos above.

Yeah afterwards i feel so good, afterwards...

Don stopped by again for a visit tonight. He didn't have much time, only about an hour and 15 minutes, but we made the best use of the time we had. Both of us have family stuff going on this weekend, so this was the only chance until next week, that's why he was here, even if only for a little bit. I also found out that he was married previously, for 6 years. To a WOMAN! That made me laugh. He laughed too. I wouldn't have ever guessed.

At any rate, this is you Uncle Polt, after Don left, contented, smiling, and sighing.

He let me take a photo of him as well, but he said he didn't want it anywhere on the Internet. So, I can't show you now. But let me work on him a bit, we'll see if I can change his mind.

And it was only when I looked at the photo just now that I realized he left his mark on me! On my right clavicale area! It's the slight discoloration below and to the left of my smile. *SIGH* At least he left it in an area that will be covered by my shirts at work.

I'm descending, pretending, i'm blending, i'm going insane...

As I may have mentioned, my mom's birthday was this past Monday. As I may have also mentioned, I gave her a DVD with 47 clips of a total of 79 people wishing her a happy birthday. It was a little over 8 minutes long. I gave this to her LAST Monday, though, because I was afraid someone would let it slip to her what I was doing.

The night I gave it to her, I also told her that my beloved ice crusher was broken, and not working and I was just going to go get a blender instead. We had an ad from Kohl's laying there, and we saw that starting that coming weekend, Kohl's had a blender on sale. Plus, mom had a store coupon they gave her for 30% off any items in the store over the upcoming weekend. She said we should go get the blender because she could probably get it for next to nothing.

And we said nothing more about it.

This past Monday, I was over at her house, I was going to take her out to eat for her birthday. We had a conversation as follows:

Polt: Hey, how long is that coupon good for?
Mama: ........what coupon?
Polt: The Kohl's coupon. For the blender.
Mama: Oh...um, today, or tomorrow, I think.
Polt: Well let's go to someplace in Hagerstown, and then we'll go to Kohl's and get it.
Mama: ......ah, no I don't want to go that far. I want to get something here in town.
Polt: Okay, well then give me the coupon and I go after work tomorrow and get it.
Mama: Um, well, no, it's got my name on it, I have to be there to use it.
Polt: Well, okay, we can go get it tomorrow night.
Mama: Um.......ah, maybe, whatever.... Ihavetogotothebathroom!

She said the last part real quick, and jumped out of her chair and ran upstairs. I thought it odd, but then, frankly, she does odd things sometimes. Well a short while later, she comes in the room with something behind her back and says, "Since you gave me my birthday present a week early, I'll just give you your Easter present a week early!" and from behind her back, she got the blender!

She went last Thursday and got it, and was going to give it to me for Easter. But since I was "grilling" her about the coupon, she couldn't think of anything to hold me off any longer. So she just gave it to me.

Yeah, she can be odd....sweet and funny, but odd too.

Trust me. Handling someone else's drawers is something you don't forget! - Bloo, Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends

Was 5 years gone, by the time....

It's the 5th Anniversary of the start of the war in Iraq.

Bushie gave a speech saying how great everything is going in Iraq, and how everything there is just peachy and wonderful. It's so ludicrious, I'm not even going to talk about it any further.

Darth Cheney gives an interview with ABC news. He stated, paraphrasing, that a majority of Americans support the war. The interviewer corrected him by saying two-thirds of Americans do not support the Iraq war. His response? "So?" In other words, who the hell cares what the majority of Americans think? He surely doesn't.

And on this, the 5th Anniversary of such a great, wonderful, successful venture, where are the conservative talking heads? What are the people that vehemently pushed for the start of this war, how are THEY celebrating the anniversary?

Rush Limbaugh's big story is that he's going to start a daily feature on Obama's preacher. Bill O'Reilly spends a segment of his show talking about old footage of Spitzer's prostitute partying...with the footage of the barely-clad young woman playing over and over.

Why is there not celebration's from them or thier ilk? Their silence on the subject speaks volumes, eh?

Its just shameful.

The third way to lose a man, the life-guard at the beach...

Despite all the sexual shenangins going on over in New York State, I'd like to say something about the ex-New Jersey governor Jim McGreevey. We all remember him, right? He was NJ's governor, then came out as a gay man, resigned, stayed with his wife, Dina, for a bit, and now they're divorcing.

WELL....it seems that, due to Dina's side issuing him a subpoena, a young man who used to be McGreevey's driver, has come out and said that he was involved in threeways with the couple, both before thier marriage and after. I've read a few things on this (after all, I only read the Internet for the articles), and the guy Teddy, apparently watched the first couple together, was with Dina while Jim watched, and even though it's not said explicitly anywhere, I get the impression he was with Jim while Dina watched as well. And of course, with both of them at the same time.

Teddy is now 29. These threeways started before the couple was married in 2000, which means he was 19, 20 or 21 years old when they all started. They ended a few years later. And while all this is rather scandalous, all I can say is, have you SEEN Teddy????

That's Teddy, with Dina and Jim

TMI Tuesday
These come from http://tmituesday.blogspot.com/.

Seeing as how I took an extended nap this afternoon, and am not a BIT tired this evening (or morning now), I thought I'd just to this now, instead of later on.

1. In the midst of a hangover have you ever promised to "never drink again?" How long until you broke that vow? Oh the first time I ever got THAT drunk, in Ocean City MD, right before I graduated high school. A stadium cup full of vodka, a stadium cup full of sloe gin, and I have no idea how many beers, and the next morning, I couldn't get up out of my red colored (thanks sloe gin) puked filled bed, but to crawl to the toilet to throw up. And I vividly recall, me head leaning on the coolness moist dampness of the toilet rim and promsing myself, if I lived through this, I would never EVER drink again. And I remember saying it a few times after that...in college. But after the first time, it was several months before I could drink any alcohol again without gagging.
2. What is the stupidest thing you have ever done while drinking (or not if it is really stupid) but thought it seemed like a good idea at the time? Coming home after a night of partying, puking in, on, and around the toilet, and figuring I'd just clean it up later. I was still living at home. Mom was none too please when she got up about 4:00 to use the bathroom. And i was none to happy to be cleaning it up at 4:10 am, while I gagged, hungover, and she yelled at me.
3. On a scale of 1-10, where do you rate green beer? I honest to God don't recall ever having HAD green beer. Seriously. but it sounds gross.
4. Have you ever kissed someone you shouldn't have (drunk or sober)? Yeah, absolutely. My good girl friend's boyfriend (THAT one blew up in my face later). My boss's girlfriend (thank GOD that did NOT blow up into anything later). My good gay friend's boyfriend (that just led to a few real hot blow jobs later....I should feel bad about it, but I have no shame). And sadly, I was sober at each time. I don't even have alcohol to blame them all on.
5. What is the stupidest thing you have ever seen a drunk do (besides driving a car)? One guy at a party, stuck his dick inside a bottle of some kinda alcohol, on a dare, to see if it would fit. And it did, sorta. But it got stuck. And then, when he pulled on it, it started to get hard, and got even more stuck. And painful. They had to take him to the hospital. *SIGH*....college days, good times, good times.
Bonus (as in optional): How do you cure your hangover(s)? The best cure is to stop drinking before you get one. Seriously. If I think I'm gonna have one, I take two Advil and drink two glasses of water before I go to bed. If I wake up with one, it's probably 4 Advil and constant drinking of water. If I'm not vomiting. If that's the case, I just lay next to the toilet until I realize just how disgusting that is. By then, the hangover's usually subsided a bit.

Foreclosure of a dream, those visions never seen...

I just want to make sure I understand all this:

Bear Stearns, the 5th largest investment firm in the country, is gonna go under, threatened with bankruptcy due to Bushie's economy(despite surviving 12 recessions and the Great Depression). JP Morgan agrees to buy the firm to keep it afloat (for 7 cents on the dollar). Bushie then says we'll use 30 million taxpayers dollars to insulate JP Morgan from any risk they may incur buying out thier opponent (despite the laissez-faire capitalism espoused by nearly every Republican alive, certaintly every Republican in the administration). And yet, how many American families are going to lose thier homes to foreclosure, which Bushie says you can't 'over-correct' when it comes to the economy (in Bush-speak, that means, "sorry, you guys are fucked, you're on your own"). Oh, and by the way, Bushie says we NEED to make his tax cuts for the richest Americans permanent.

Hmm, I suppose this is called Compassionate Conservatism In Action.

Yes, Don stopped by again today. And yes, it was as good as I thought it would be. Lots of talking, and kissing and cuddling and laughing and joking and getting to know one another and just having fun being there. And at point during the three hours we spent in bed, while we were talking, he said something to me that almost made me cry (and no I'm not gonna say what, even Uncle Polt doesn't kiss and tell everything!) I got it bad. can't wait to see him again. And I wonder if this smile will be permanently plastered on my face.

I gotta be honest with ya, and I told him this too, I'm a bit scared by all this, how strongly I feel for him. I have never in all the people I've dated, felt this strongly for anyone this quickly. But I'm liking the feeling, and just rolling with it for now.
