About last night....

So last night panned out pretty much as I expected.

I knew there'd be no change in the House.  That'll remain Republican until at least 2022, and that only assumes Democrats get some state legislatures in 2010 and can redistrict more fairly.

I knew we'd lose the Senate.  It was too bad of a map for Democrats this year.

I knew we in Pennsylvania would correct the horrible mistake we made in 2010 and kick Corbett to the curb, which we did.

My surprises came in the governor's races. The Walked Dead extra Rick Scott wins again in Florida?  What the hell?  The union busting, business deregulating, tax money to the rich, Koch brother bought and owned Scott Walker wins again in Wisconsin?  What the double hell?

And the biggest surprise of all to me: a Republican beating a black Democrat in Maryland?  How does that happen.  I wasn't impressed with either candidate, they both seemed rather....blah.  And Brown, the Democrat, ran a lackluster, un-energetic campaign, almost like he just assumed as the sitting Lieutenant Governor, he didn't really need to campaign to win.  But I thought the blacks in Baltimore and DC Suburbs would come out to vote for the first black governor of Maryland.  Not that that makes him the best candidate, just that I thought it would be enough to get him elected.  I suppose I shouldn't stereotype black Marylanders in a bloc like that though.

But I'll say this, Republicans better enjoy the next two years.  Cause in 2016, the Senate map flips, and there are many Republicans from blue states up for election. As many, if not more, as there were Democrats from red states running this year. And in a year when Hillary's running for, and probably winning, the Presidency.  How big a majority the Democrats have in two years in the Senate will be determined by how long Hillary's coattails are.

But what to expect for the next two years?  It'll be All Benghazi All The Time!  The Republicans, especially the Senators running for President (I'm looking at you, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and Marco Rubio) are scared to DEATH of Hillary running, cause they know how formidable she'd be.  So despite the House having several investigations on Benghazi the last two years (and very quietly publishing a report of their conclusions saying, among other things, no fault lies with Obama OR Hillary), the Senate will have several investigations of their own, just to keep it in the news.

Also, you'll see a few 'impeachements' thrown in (even though the Republican HAVE to know they'll NEVER get 67 votes to convict) for good measure.  And one or two government shut downs, just for the hell of it.  Oh and let's not forget, about 25 more attempts at Obamacare repeal, even though they know Obama's gonna veto any and every attempt.

But governing?  Of any kind?  Nope.  Not gonna happen.  Cause governing would mean cooperating the Obama.  And to Republicans, that's a bigger sin than fucking a black boy on a chruch altar while snorting coke off the communion wafers while you're extra-marital girlfriend is getting an abortion from that gay, Muslim doctor across town.

The fault lies entirely with young people.  And blacks.  And Hispanics.  Because all of their percentage of the voters dropped strikingly from 2012 to 2014.  And who's participation percentage rose the most?  Those over 65, white voters and conservative voters.  If the traditional Democratic voters had come out and voted as they should have, things would have been a lot better.

But Democratic voting habits in off year elections....well, they are what they are.

I just leave you with a quote I saw on Facebook from Andy Borowitz: "I know there have been many theories about what happened last night, but let me share mine with you: this country has a lot of dumb fucks in it."

Amen, brother.  Amen.
