Badass Birthday
On this date, in 1914 in New York City, Jonas Salk was born.
Jonas Salk was virologist and medical researcher. He developed once of first effective polio vaccine. And yeah, that's great, but in addition to that, he chose not to patent it, so it could be made by anyone and that allowed it to be mass produced for distribution all over the world. Truly a badass move! He sated vaccinations in 1955 and succeeded in lower polio infections worldwide!
He passed away in 1995 at the age of 81.
