Some predictions:
- Talarico is up over Paxton in both the polls and voter enthusiasm for Texas senate. Abbott and his challenger are both about equal in the polls for Texas governor. This is how is stands now 11 days away from election day.
I predict that both Paxon and Abbott with 'win' their respective races. Not because they actually got more real actual votes than their opponents. No, they'll 'win' because Republicans have controlled Texas for 30 years and both these men are the current governor and attorney general of the state.
They, or the party machinery in charge of the state, will find 'a way' to win both elections. And I don't think either of them will be close. They'll win them outside the margin of what's required for an automatic recount so the Democrats have to pay for one, and that would be expensive. Remember, Musk is basically funding Paxton's campaign himself, and remember what happened in 2024 with the 7 swing states all going for the orange shitgibbon at margins just magically slightly bigger than what would have triggered a recount. That will happen again here.
- Despite what I said above I think the Dems will have 52 seats in the Senate (including the independents who will caucus with them) and the Republicans will have 48. In the House, the Dems are gonna gain between 20-25 seats, despite all the gerrymandering the orange shitgibbon and his slavering lackeys did.
- Whoever wins the NFL East this year, Dallas, The Giants, The Eagles or Washington, will do so with a record below .500. An 8-9 or 7-10 record could get them into the playoffs and hosting a Wildcard Game. All four teams and just dismal this year. I mean, in the last two weeks, 8 games total, exactly NONE of them have won a game. And two of them played each other!
- Following the election on November 3rd, gas prices will swiftly increase by large margins. Oil company CEOs are greedy sons of bitches, but they want to keep Republicans in control of Congress even more, to ensure they're obscene tax cuts, subsidies and lack of regulation and oversight. So despite everything that's going on the Middle East they have been suppressing gas prices. Oh, they've let them rise, cause they ARE greedy but not as much as they could have. But once the election's over, no matter who won, there's not need to keep them down, and the prices will skyrocket. Honestly, by the end of the year, I won't be surprised to see gas prices above $6.00 a gallon for regular gas. And yeah, the American people will scream bloody murder. but what do the oil company CEOs care? If Americans want gas, they'll have to pay whatever those greedy bastards charge, right? It will not be pretty.
- Also, this last one is the one I'm least sure of just because I do NOT want it to be correct. I think "something" will happen, a "terrorist attack", "Iranians bomb something", "credible threats of attacks on polling places", etc. I put them all in quotes because they will either be total bullshit rumor or some terrible tragedy perpetrated by the Federal Government itself in order for the orange shitgibbon and his ass-kissing lackeys to fuck around with the election in 10 days. I predict IF this happens, and God's know I don't want it to, it will be Sunday, Monday or very early Tuesday of next week. That way, whatever "it" is, there will be less time for sensible Americans to do anything about it. Just watch how there will be "trouble" in places like Philly, or Minneapolis, or Detroit, or Houston, or other big cities with big Democratic constituencies in either swing states, or states with a close Senate election. Anything to stifle turnout among Democratic voters. Remember, the orange shitgibbon sent his minions to the Capitol to overturn an election and potentially hang his own Vice President. He'll do ANYTHING to get his way, and killing innocent Americans is not something new to him (see Good, Renee and Pretti, Alex). But damn I really REALLY hope I'm wrong about this one.
And there we have it. I'm traditionally not terribly great at these predictions (ask President Kamala Harris from 2024 or the three-peat Super Bowl Champions Kansas City Chiefs about my accuracy with these things), so we'll see how well things go with these.
