Ring through my ears and sting my eyes, your Spanish lullaby (Part 4229)...

 Hispanic Heroes Month

Vibe

Francisco Paco Ramone was born and raised in Detroit Michigan.   He was a major *sigh* breakdancer there, and oh, incidentally, he had the power to emit sonic vibration waves.   Since the JLA had recently relocated to Detroit (don't ask) he was made a member.

So the league pared itself down form it's 16 famous and powerful members down to just four, who were less powerful and less famous (Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Elongated Man, Zatanna).  And then they decided to move their headquarters to Detroit for some reason.  And then they picked up a few new members, and in order to appeal to the younger, hipper kids of the mid 80s, they made one of them a Hispanic break dancer (several years after the breakdancing craze had evaporated).

Vibe was also frankly an insulting stereotype.  This version of League only lasted a few years until if mercifully disbanded and Vibe was killed.   No great loss.
