Badass Birthday
On this date, in 1735 in Massachusetts, John Adams was born.
John Adams was a lawyer, political activist, founding father, a member of the Massachusetts House and the Massachusetts state judiciary. He was US Minister to Great Britain and US Minister to the Netherlands as well. and lifelong diarist and letter writer to his wife Abigail (and luckily, the diaries and letters have survived!).
And all of that is spectacularly impressive, but of course, his main reason for being a badass is he was the first Vice-President of the United States! And the second president of the USA. And the first (and only for nearly a quarter of century) one term president.
He passed away in 1826 at the age of 90, and on the same day at Thomas Jefferson did.
