The Hulk
Marvel Comic's Hulk first appeared in The Incredible Hulk #1 in May 1962. Bruce Banner was caught in the blast of a Gamma Ray bomb and turned into a large, thick, strong, green monster of limited intelligence. He's been a "hero" in the loosest of terms, having been pursued frequently by other heroes, the military and other authorities for damages he's caused. He also has been a founding member of The Avengers and The Defenders.
