When I was twelve, at summer camp (part 5)...

12 For The 12th
Okay, first of all, I KNOW this is the 13th, not the twelth. I took all these photos on the 12th, though. I just forgot to post them yesterday. So I'm doing it now. Deal with it.

9:30am
Mom and I went to visit the lawyers. Even though it was Veterans' Day, he came in special, just to talk to us. Mom wanted to change the will, since dad died, and talk over a few other things. It took us about an hour.

11:00am
I did some laundry at mom's after the lawyer appointment.

11:45am
I sat down to read. I propped my feet up, and Angel, mom's dog, jumped right up and laid between my legs. She slept while I read.

11:50am
And this would be me reading. Yesterday, when I opened this book, I was on page 179. Later in the day, I finished it, to page 428. Now granted, it wasn't a hard read, but the book was so engrossing, I couldn't put it down until i finished.

12:19pm
At 11:30, mom went to lunch with two of her friends: a guy she went to school with and his wife. They were gone for about two hours. While they were gone, it was my responsibility to keep the fire going in the woodstove, as that's how she heats the house. And I did so quite well.

3:25pm
When they all returned, we sat around and talked for about an hour. Then they left, and mom and I had to leave for another appointment. She and I walked downtown for this, going through the alleyway.

4:20pm
Our appointment was with mom's financail advisor. they had to change a bunch of IRA's and stuff over to just her name. And I went with her for all this. I was kinda lost, cause financial stuff, and economics, and stuff that are just NOT what my mind is wired for. Never has been. Can't even balance my checkbook to save my life.

5:30pm
I returned home afterwards and watched some TV. I fell asleep for roughly and hour and a half. It was a nice nap. (this photo is obviously a re-enactment, as i took it myself. But I feel pretty certain this is what I looked like at that time)

7:00pm
For supper, I just broke down and ordered a pizza: thin crust, pepperoni, extra cheese and beef. Yummy.

9:00pm
I sat down to watch the Monday Night Football game. The Seahawks won, which meant I wont $150 bucks at work, as detailed below. And yes, that is my feet in the thier comfy Totes Toasties. And yes, that is the mess that is my apartment.

10:10pm
During halftime, I sorted through some of the clothes I had laundered earlier in the day. These would be the socks and undies.

11:35pm
I talked to Freddie. he told me his schedule for next semester. He told me he and his friends were heading for Wa-Wa to get something to eat (at 11;30 at night...*SIGH* to be in college again). And after we said our "I love you's" and "Goodbyes" I hung up and went to bed.

And that's the day that was the 12th of November, 2007

Think I'll buy me a football team (week 10)...

Well, this weekend went extraordinarily well.

First off, the hated Redskins lost...to the waning Eagles, after pretty much ruling the game until the end. It was a joyous collapse to watch.

Secondly, my Cowboys won, beating the Giants, gaining sole possession of the lead in the NFC North, and going 8-1, tied with Green Bay for the best score in the NFC.

Thirdly, the team i picked in the "losers" pool at work, Cleveland, lost. So I remain in that pool after the first week.

Fourthly, in the bets with Johnnie, I came out ahead 3-2, so not only did I win more this week, I extended my lead over him to 26-15 overall, meaning he owes me $11.

But fifthly, and best of all, there's the winner's pool at work. I've been in the one since the season began 10 weeks ago. And going into this week, there were only 5 of us left. Three picked New Orleans to win, me and another guy picked Seattle. Since New Orleans lost, but Seattle won, that means he and I are still in, and can pick again for next week to win it all, OR, decided to call it and split the winnings in half. I believe we'll both agree to split it, and each take our $150 and be happy. At least I know I will, if he will.

Everything went my way this weekend...couldn't ask for anything better. And I ordered a Tony Romo Football Jersey as well. Not sure when I'll get it, but I'll wear it proudly.

TMITuesdays

1. Have you ever met a fellow blogger in person? Not that I recall. Last year in Toronto, we tried to get together with one, but our schedules couldn't be worked out.
2. Did you ever play an innocent game of "I'll show you mine if you show me yours"? How old where you? Sure did! that worked up through my early teens.
3. When did you get your first not so innocent kiss? I don't recall the first not-so-innocent kiss, but it was probably with Kathy, a girl I went to the prom with in high school. We fooled around a bit. Later, at the 5 year reunion, we both told the other we were gay. Did we laugh.
3a.If your partners are no longer of the opposite sex, when did you get that first kiss? I don't recall the exact time on this one either, but it had to be Jeff, my first regular 'partner' back in high school.
4. Have you ever awoke with someone who's name you did not remember? I'm pretty sure that if I spent the night with them, I knew their name, at least at that time. Don't ask me to remember them all now.
5. Have you ever let someone else wash you while you were perfectly capable of doing it yourself? Hell yeah. Showers for two are quite fun, dontcha think?
Bonus (as in optional): What makes a great first date for you? One that ends with us both being hot, sweaty and exhausted after decadent, toe-curling, wake-the-neighbors sex.

Through the wire we push out tailormade speeches...

Yesterday was Veterans Day. Traditionally, the President places a wreath at the Tomb Of The Unknowns, and gives a speech. Yesterday, Bushie spent the day in Crawford Texas in the middle of a 5 day vacation. He left Dick to make the speech and place the wreath.

This is the man who sent all these guys and gals over to Iraq to fight and die based on lies. He can't even bother to take the time to fly back to DC to honor the veterans. And he's got his own means of transportation, ya know? It surely couldn't have taken more than half a day for him to fly back, get driven to the ceremony, made the speech, presented the wreath, was driven back to the airport and flown back.

But no, Bushie thought it better to go to an American Legion in Waco Texas and give a speech there. And people claim HE supports the troops????

If boobs could be wings she'd be flying around...

Recently, i hung out with A Local Celebrity, Mr. David ParisPeking, and Ghostie. And while we were driving back with the food we had picked up, we got to talking about the Palace, and the ensuing conversation took place (some of it, paraphrased):

ALCMDPP: And about your blog, why don't you throw your male heterosexual readers a bone? POLT: Hey if any of my male heterosexual readers want me to bone them, I'll be overjoyed to accomodate them!
ALCMDPP: Yeah, see, that's how you are. But anyway, you've got all this daily gay photo stuff, why can't you post something for us straight guys to see?
GHOSTIE: Yeah, like Show-A-Boob Tuesdays!
POLT: You never even VISIT the Palace!
GHOSTIE: I would if you had Show-A-Boob Tuesdays!
ALCMDPP: Just a little something like that.
POLT: I already do TMI Tuesdays.
ALCMDPP: Which, by the way, is one thing me and the missus skip EVERY week. Too much information is right!
GHOSTIE: Well then how about Show-A-Boob Thursdays?
POLT: I do the Half Nekkid Thursdays.
GHOSTIE: Show-A-Boob Wednesday?
POLT: I do Wife-Beater Wednesday.
GHOSTIE: You show a wife beater each Wednesday?
POLT: The SHIRT! The undershirt, wifebeater. A tank top. See, if you went to the Palace, you'd know that.
GHOSTIE: Whatever. Show-A-Boob Friday?
ALCMDPP: He shows that kissing thing on Fridays.
POLT: I have something each day of the week already.
ALCMDPP: Well couldn't you just ADD a Show-A-Boob Tuesdays? Just for the straight male readers?
POLT: Other than you, I HAVE straight male readers?
ALCMDPP:......okay, then do it just for me. And maybe Ghostie, he might check in then.
POLT: I'll think about it.

And think about it I have. And I've decided, what the hell? If a loyal reader, like ALCMDPP requests something, what type of blogger would I bet to ignore his needs?

And so, for ALCMDPP, Ghostie (should he decide to stop by) and any other straight male readers I may have (Pffft, who am I kidding), I give you the first, and most likely last...

SHOW-A-BOOB Saturday!

Seriously, with the sites I visit and get my photos from, this is the closest thing I could find. That's about what, a D-cup...C-cup at LEAST! But come on, he's got cleavage, isn't that enough????

Now you've got soup in the laundry...

Last Sunday night, when Freddie called me, he told me that he gotten up at 7:30 that morning. I scoffed, cause I know he rarely if ever gets up before 10:00 am when he's here (but then, maybe he's busier the nights before when he's here as opposed to when he's at college. Don't know, just sayin....) He said he had all this laundry to do and had to get up that early to get a washer.

But when he got to the laundry room, they were all already taken. So he waited and then one of the "industrial" washers came open, which was good, because he could fit all the clothes he needed to do into one "industrial" as opposed to the two regular ones he'd need. Soon thereafter, another washer opened up, so Freddie's roommate Chris used that one to wash his clothes.

When they were done, they got one of the "industrial" dryers (I forget whether they had to wait for it though), so they put all thier clothes in the dryer together. They came back an hour later, and the clothes still were wet. So they ran them through the cycle again, and after another hour, the clothes were STILL wet. Apparently, the dryer went around and around, but never turned on any heat. It was broken.

So, Freddie and Chris did the only thing they could. Get someone to fix it? nah, no one available. Take the clothes to a laundramat in town and dry them? Nah, that would take money, which they didn't have. They brought all thier clothes back to thier dorm room and hung them up. All. OVER. hung them from doors, from drawers, from the backs of chairs, from the sides and bottoms of thier beds, from the shower, perhaps? Freddie took photos.

Including a panoramic view:

He said they had spent a good portion of the day blowing them dry with hair dryers. I told him that was a great idea, as I know how good he is with blowing things. He failed to see the humor in that statement.

Anyway, eventually, the clothes did get dry. But for some reason, I'm a bit worried, that these college-educated guys, who are the future of our nation, had to have their wet clothes hanging all over thier room for hours. Doesn't inspire confidence in the future of our leaders, does it? Course, they WERE innovative, so that's a good thing...

Oh, and by the way, Hagrid is still alive and doing well, thanks for asking.

Undress me, will I look like a fool (Part 82)...

Once more, its time for...

You know, there was a time, only a few years ago in fact, that Uncle Polt was quite derisive of people with cell phones. I considered them people who thought they were better than others, people who felt the need to ALWAYS be in touch with someone else, people who were stupid and sloppy in their driving whilst talking on cell phones, and were loud and obnoxious while talking on them in the line at the market, or store, or mall, or where ever. I often said there is absolutely NO time or place in my life where I absolutely HAVE to have a way for someone to contact me. I looked down on cellphone users as people who were slaves to the latest trend, yet one more thing Americans were sold into buying when in fact, it was not needed.

Now, however, I wonder how I ever got along without one. I in fact only have a cellphone, since I got my cable modem, there was no need for a house phone, and I got rid of it. I still try not to talk whilst driving, or in the stores or malls, and there are still times when I turn it off, or down, when I want some solitude. but it is just such a convience, I can't get along without having one.

Of course, i can still look down on some cellphone users, if I wish. Like people who use thier phone as a calendar/iPod/internet access/video camera/photo camera/etc/etc/etc. I use mine only to talk.

Plus, the phone I have flips open, like the communicator on the original Star Trek, and that appeals to the Star Trek geek in me.
