Last Sunday night, when Freddie called me, he told me that he gotten up at 7:30 that morning. I scoffed, cause I know he rarely if ever gets up before 10:00 am when he's here (but then, maybe he's busier the nights before when he's here as opposed to when he's at college. Don't know, just sayin....) He said he had all this laundry to do and had to get up that early to get a washer.
But when he got to the laundry room, they were all already taken. So he waited and then one of the "industrial" washers came open, which was good, because he could fit all the clothes he needed to do into one "industrial" as opposed to the two regular ones he'd need. Soon thereafter, another washer opened up, so Freddie's roommate Chris used that one to wash his clothes.
When they were done, they got one of the "industrial" dryers (I forget whether they had to wait for it though), so they put all thier clothes in the dryer together. They came back an hour later, and the clothes still were wet. So they ran them through the cycle again, and after another hour, the clothes were STILL wet. Apparently, the dryer went around and around, but never turned on any heat. It was broken.
So, Freddie and Chris did the only thing they could. Get someone to fix it? nah, no one available. Take the clothes to a laundramat in town and dry them? Nah, that would take money, which they didn't have. They brought all thier clothes back to thier dorm room and hung them up. All. OVER. hung them from doors, from drawers, from the backs of chairs, from the sides and bottoms of thier beds, from the shower, perhaps? Freddie took photos.
Including a panoramic view:
He said they had spent a good portion of the day blowing them dry with hair dryers. I told him that was a great idea, as I know how good he is with blowing things. He failed to see the humor in that statement.
Anyway, eventually, the clothes did get dry. But for some reason, I'm a bit worried, that these college-educated guys, who are the future of our nation, had to have their wet clothes hanging all over thier room for hours. Doesn't inspire confidence in the future of our leaders, does it? Course, they WERE innovative, so that's a good thing...
Oh, and by the way, Hagrid is still alive and doing well, thanks for asking.

One thing that drives me nuts is that Keyron always buys things without considering how to care for them.
Doing laundry is always fun. First I sort the clothes, paying attention to what goes where. Then I tell him to get his stuff he wants to wash and proceed to sort that.
Problem is, he's got so many things that are hand wash, dry clean only, and dry flat only that it makes laundry interesting.
He's got so many dry flats that they're draped over chairs etc. to dry. It's crazy, I keep telling him to look at labels. If they don't say "Tumble dry low" then leave them alone.
