The way you're flashin' me those puppy dog eyes, right...

Some things are so cute, so adorable, that when they're seen online, they just HAVE to be stolen and posted on your own blog. And this photo is one of them.

And much to my surprise, if not yours, there's not a athlete, stud, twink, or frat boy, shirtless, naked, in a speedo, in a wife-beater, drunk or sober anywhere to be seen!!! Who knew?

I've seen a few episodes of "Gene Simmons' Family Jewels". I actually enjoyed the episodes I saw. It generally is kinda funny, to me anyway. Especially when they do the interviews, the family says the most hilarious things.

And then of course there's his son, Nick. Wowzers. Six foot, seven inches of nineteen year old hotness.

It's sick and it's your fault, this is the end...

Today I filled up my gas thank and I had to pay $3.35 a gallon for it. That’s the most I ever had to pay, and I am none too happy about it. I was just going to let all this go, not say this cause I didn’t want to step on any toes, butcha know, now I’m pissed, and I’m just gonna say it.

Unless you were actively against the invasion of Iraq 5 years ago, either by protesting against it, or contacting your Congressman, or even just talking out against it to your friends, then this is YOUR fault. If you actively supported the invasion, either by rallying for it, contacting your Congressman or even just talkin out in favor of it with you friends OR if you said or did nothing, thus giving your tacit approval to the invasion, then, in either case, this it YOUR fault.

And my God, if you actually voted FOR George W. Bush in 2004, thus giving him and his incompetent corrupt administration 4 more years to continue all this, in that case, you are specifically especially to blame. It is YOUR fault!

It is YOUR fault that gas is now the highest it’s ever been.
It is YOUR fault that we’ve lost over 4000 of our youngest, best and brightest in the middle of the desert, which doesn’t even include all the thousands that have been maimed and injured there, and who’s lives will be adversely affected until they die.
It is YOUR fault that we have bankrupted our nation, with unnecessary war spending, obscene tax cuts to the Americans with the most money already, and borrowing of further huge sums of money to give out to us in this insane economic stimulus deal.
It is YOUR fault we continue to have our military personnel inadequately armed and armored, deny them adequate downtime home with their families and provide them with substandard medical treatment and facilities.
It is YOUR fault that Al Queda, who was kept out of Iraq by Saddam Hussein, now has a base and are firmly entrenched in the center of the Arab world.
It is YOUR fault that due to our invasion there, we’ve done more to increase the membership of Al Queda and similar organizations than they could ever hope to have gained on their own.
It is YOUR fault that we have squandered our young, our treasury, our future (in more ways than one) on this illegal invasion of a soverign nation, and subsequent quadmire that occured as a direct result of that invasion.

It is YOUR fault. I hope YOU are happy with the results of YOUR actions. Think of that the next time you fill up your tank. And remember that in November, when it comes time to cast your ballot.

Like the cover of a book, and said, "don't expect me to believe...

Yesterday, as I do every Wednesday after work, I went to Atomic Comics and got my weekly fix of comics. Last night, as I lay down to bed to read them, I scanned through to pick a few to read that first night. I came up the Titans Together, or whatever the new Titans' title is called. This is the cover:

Well, just seeing this brought the comic fanboy inside me damn near to orgasm! I've collected the Titans since 1981, with the re-issue of the Wolfman/Perez version. And I've been with them ever since...even through the horrific Titans led by the teenaged Atom (oh the HORROR!). But to see the hands of the original 7 (well, I KNOW they're not the original seven, cause the first Teen Titans had only Robin, Kid Flash and Aqualad, but I mean the original seven from 1981) all together again...well, THIS is what the Titans are all about!

And then I read the comic.

And at the end, the grown up me damn near had an orgasm! It was THAT outstanding! Great artwork, great storyline, great pacing, great charaterizations, everything meshed perfectly. I figured out what was going on before they revealed it on the last page, but that didn't lessen the effect! I think I may have screamed. Well, gasped really. Just a little bit.

Then I moved on to the newest issue of the Justice Society Of America.

Alex Ross covers...man, does ANYONE do them better than him? And the story had me going, seeing as how it's bringing in parts of Kingdom Come as well. And then, on the last page, seeing the two characters there, hearing what they said....yes I screamed a bit more. Well, just an excited exhalation, really.

I shouldn't have been surprised really. Judd Winnick is writing the Titans, and Geoff Johns is writing the JSA, and both of them are two of the premiere writers in comics today. NOT becasue they put the most popular characters together regardless of implausability (ala Wolverine in the Avengers...puh-LEESE!), but because they know about, and care about, the characters and character development and growth.

Man, it has been quite some time since I've been so exciting about something in comics, and so breathlessly awaited the next issue. Probably not since the Identity Crisis a few years back, trying to figure out who killed Sue Dibny. *SIGH*...it's GOOD to be reading comics now.

Once more, it's time for....

Well, kids, what do you do when you've been busy and not had time to take a decent HNT photo, not to mention not getting one inside a bathroom? AND, you're camera's on the fritz, cause it's lens won't close, so you really can't take very good photos anyways? Well, if you're Uncle Polt, you put on an old pair of glasses, grab a pair of plaid boxers that were just laying on the floor, throw them on your head, make a stupid face and snap a photo!!!!

No, this is actually one I took in April of last year, one of about three I took. I already used one before back then. But I seriously am having issues with my camera, and I didn't have a chance to get a shot this week, so I went into the archives and pulled this lil baby out. I know you'll enjoy it as much as I do.

Sweet dreams are made of these...

My dream from last night:

Charles Nelson Reilly and I were cleaning my shower. Both of us were standing in the tub, cleaning opposite ends. We were listening to a CD of Madonna's hits as played by an orchestra. He was using that patented laugh of his all the time, and just cracking me up. We were both barefoot, which kinda grossed me out considering all the gunk on the walls and the cleaner used to get them off were running down into the tub and then the drain...but over out feet as it went. But I didn't say anything, because I didn't want to appear to be a wimp in front of Charles Nelson Reilly. And I could smell fried chicken coming from somewhere.

And most surprising of all, I did NOT take any Nyquil or anything before bed to provoke such a dream.

An utterance, information, don't mince words (Part 91)...

TMI Tuesdays
These come from http://tmituesday.blogspot.com/

1. Your boyfriend/girlfriend cheats on you with your best friend, who are you (more) mad at? This happened to me, and I was WAY more made at my best friend. In fact, we rarely speak even now, 16 years later. See, I had only invested about 5 months in the girlfriend (yes, it was a girlfriend...the last one I ever had), but my best friend I had known all my life, and he was my best friend for probably 7-8 prior to this. His was a way more painful and unforgivable betrayal than was hers.
2. Is there something someone could say to you that would cross a boundary of not being able to take back or forgive them? I feel fairly certain there is, but not something specific. I mean, I'll take a lot from more from friends than I would from co-workers. I'll take a lot more from some members of my family than i would from others. SO it just depends, I guess, on who's saying it.
3. What non-sexual body part do you find the sexiest? The hair. Oh my sweet Lord, long silky hair on a man, down to about his shoulders, that falls down and covers an eye.....SWOON!
4. Would you ever consider cosmetic surgery to have the perfect body? It would take SEVERAL surgeries to get me anywhere NEAR a perfect body. I'd have surgery for health reasons, yes, but otherwise, no I doubt it.
5. Have you ever kissed someone of the same sex? Um...hello? Do you read my blog at all?

Bonus (as in optional): If you were going to have a one night stand, who would you rather it be with- an ex or someone totally random you just met. Someone random. And ex might drap up feelings and emotions that would cloud the one-night stand situation. I don't need the added drama.

Your shoulders, like dead hands of the past...

Charleton Heston has died.

I don't care.

When I think of Charlton Heston, I don't think of an actor, of the guy in Planet Of The Apes. No, what I think of is that man who, just one week after a little black girl was shot and killed by another young boy in I think Michigan, went to Michigan and gave a speech wherein he spouted the NRA talking points and said they'd take his guns when they "pried them from his cold dead hands". I hope they didn't take them even then. Bury the firearms with him, at least that ensures they won't be used to kill someone.

When I think of Charleton Heston, I don't think of a gifted actor, but I think of a man who was little more than a megaphone to spew forth whatever crap the NRA force-fed him. Less than a week after the little girl is dead, he does this. My God, she was barely in the ground and he's there preaching the virtues of guns.

In a related note, the Pennsylvania state House recently took a vote on an important issue. It was a bill's amendment that stated that if a gunowner has his gun stolen, he will be required by law to report it stolen within three days of his discovery that it's stolen. Failing to do so would be a misdemeanor with just a fine, but if it happens three times, then it's a felony, with a higher fine and possible jail time.

The PA House voted, something along the lines of 128-75, against the amendment. Against. They said no, if a gunowner loses or hasa his gun stolen, he should not report it. Just let it go. Don't harrass these poor over regulated gun owners.

Pffft. Please. I was disappointed, but not at all surprised. After all, this is a state where the first day of hunting season in, I think November, is almost a state holiday. Naturally, the urban members of the House voted for the bill, because they're the ones representing people being threatened and shot by these lost or stolen guns. And the rural members, like the ones representing me, are all probably car carrying members of the NRA and to them, the 2nd amendment is 100 times more imporant than the other 9 in the Bill of Rights.

The House Speaker, one Dennis O'Brien, himself a Republican who voted against it, said this: "It's a difficult vote to explain why you're not for it, but the deficiencies were glaring." HUH??? If it's deficiencies were glaring, then why is it difficult to explain why you didn't vote for it??? Maybe those deficiencies were the NRA head honchos screaming in your ear that you'd lose all their money and endorsements come the next election, eh, Denny old man?

However, finding out that the queen's been electrocuted by a gay guy with a cattle prod and a three and a half inch willy is really queer news indeed. - Byron, 9 Dead Gay Guys

This one goes out to the one I love...

I just downloaded the new R.E.M. album from iTunes. I'm currently listening to it, and I gotta say, it's pretty good. It sounds like early R.E.M., which brings back all kinds of memories for me!

It's also the first time I downloaded an entire album. Was kinda hesitant about it, but I don't know why. it was $13.99, which I don't think I could have gotten it for any cheaper anywhere around here. And there was no tax, which there would have been around here. And I didn't have the leave the house, and waste gas, and fight crowds and such to get it. i could just sit here at my computer, naked, and buy it. (probably not a visual any of you want...sorry)

R.E.M. memory: In the fall of 1987, I went with my friend Jim and Duff, and some of Duff's family to his step-mother's uncle cabin in Erie PA, situation right along the lake. It was a bit cold as it was October, but it was beautiful. And an incredibly fun time. We drove two vehicles. I was driving my car, with Jim and Duff with me. In the cabin, the three of us stayed upstairs in one bedroom that had a king sized bed in it that the three of us could easily sleep in together. And I remember one night of some intense sweaty half naked wrestling taking place between us on that bed, but nothing more than that. I also found a pretty decent comic book shop up there, and got a few back issues I needed. Also had a girl at a register accuse me of being from the South because of my accent. She would not believe I lived in the southern part of PA, 5 minutes from the Maryland border. She insisted I lived in Kentucky or Tennessee.

At ANY rate, while driving up there, and while driving home, and in the cabin a few times (at least once while we were in the bed), I heard "The One I Love" by R.E.M. All three of us sang along with the chorus, laughing our asses off trying to sing the "FIRE" part.

Funtimes...funtimes.

Well i, found it's my life, down on all fives...

So, I know you all are thinking, what has Uncle Polt been up to recently. Well funny you should wonder, cause I'm gonna post about it now.

It's been two weeks since I was really sick with that flu, but i STILL have the crud and gunk in my chest and sinuses. I'm coughing up, blowing out snot all the time...and it's even less pleasant to experience it than it is to read about it. But at least I don't feel bad. So right now, it's just more of an inconvience than anything else.

I've talked to Don twice. We're trying to figure out an evening next week when I can go to his and Jim's place after work one night. For supper, and to meet thier dogs, and possibly other things.

I saw the second of Obama's political ads on TV today. I've seen his about 8 times, only saw Hillary's about 3 times. Guess that's what happens when you raise 40 million as opposed to 20 million dollars in one month.

I did my taxes today. State taxes came out even, as they always do, and I filed them over the phone. I'll be looking to get back a bit over $1100 from the Federal taxes, which is HUGE! I normally get back between $600-$800. I'm not sure why I'm getting the additional money back, but I did the form twice and came up with the same result, so it should be right. I'll be mailing that off tomorrow. My local taxes, I'll have to pay. A smidge under $400 dollars to them. But with my Feds, I'll still come out $700 ahead. Now I wish i wasn't such a procrastinator and had gotten them done earlier.

Since I spent last Saturday with my cousins watching a comedian, I missed the Dr. Who & Torchwood of last week. Luckily, BBC America shows an encore of the previous week's episode each week ahead of the new ones. So this past Saturday, I got to have a marathon of British SciFi: I watched two episodes of Dr. Who and then two episodes of Torchwood. I was in SciFi geek heaven.

Other than all that, life's been the same: sleep, work, blogging, downloading porn, eating, masturbating, reading, and then starting it all over again.

Okay, so some visitors came commented on my HNT theme of "Polt In The Bathroom", and they've been asking for a photo in a Ladies' Bathroom. Well, I thought that was a great idea, although it would take some planning, and a female accomplice. I do intend on trying to get one. In the meantime, I can give you a quasi-, pseudo-, Ladies' Bathroom shot.

This is Mama Polt's bathroom, taken by me when I was sitting on the toilet.

A few things:
1) Mama Polt IS a lady, so technically, this IS a Lady's Bathroom, although I don't think it's what most people were thinking.
2) I didn't realize until just as I was gonna do this post that I'm not actually IN the photo anywhere....but let's not quibble, I can still use it as a HNT right?
And 3) If anyone's wondering, it's really best not to ask why I have my camera with me when I'm sitting on the toilet.

Your private life drama, baby, leave me out...

Even though I asked people not to ask, because it's complicated, some people HAVE asked why Don and I went on a date with his friend Jim. I was going to post about this, I hadn't intended on doing it this soon, but eh, no time like the present right?

It seems I can't have a relationship without drama. We all know my last boyfriend was Freddie, twenty years younger than me, living about 10 hours away, and even when at college, still three hours away. not terribly condusive to perfecting a relationship, but very condusive to drama.

Don just lives about 45 minutes away and is only two years older than me (I think I might have said he was a year younger than me, but that was a mistake in my part). So those particular bits of drama aren't applicable here. But there is something else.

Don, well, Don has a partner, named Jim. Jim is twenty years older than Don, and has a serious heart condition, that his doctors have said gives him about 2 years to live, maybe more, maybe less. Jim and Don have been together 15 years, but Jim has told Don that, because of his heart, he knows he can no longer satisfy him sexually. And he wants Don to be happy when he's gone. So Jim has told him to find someone, someone he (Don) likes and Jim wants to meet this person, to make sure he's good enough for Don.

Don and I have been together serveral times. Jim's known about them all. And this movie/meal date thingee on Monday was for Jim and I to meet each other and get to know each other a bit. Frankly, I liked the guy, we had a stimulatingd conversation about politics over the meal. And even though I feared there would be, there were no awkward pauses or uncomfortable silences. And I assume he was pleased with me as well, because when we parted, he invited down to thier house, and I haven't heard anything negative about the day from Don.

*SIGH*....yeah, I know, I know. I'm kinda ambivalent about some of this myself. It is, I believe you'll agree, a strange situation. And it's the honest truth, cause kids, even I couldn't make this kinda stuff up.

I'm not really sure how this is all gonna play out, but what I do know is that I like Don A LOT. And I know that he feels the same. And right now, that's what matters. Don has said he's worried that I might not wait for him...two years, or more, is a long time. And he's right, it is. But right now, Don is who I want. And I'm willing to wait. I mean, we can still get together and have fun, and dates, and sex and stuff....without Jim.

It ain't perfect, I know. But Don's practially perfect for me. We fit. We match. At least so far. So I'm willing to hang on and see what develops further.

And besides, how could I NOT have some drama in my life????

"And would it kill you to wear pink, Lori?" "Probably." - Lori, Black Alice #1

Come in lads, you seen the ads? too bad, bad, bad...

Satruday night, I saw my first Clinton ad on TV, and then Monday, I saw my first Obama ad. I don't really watch much network TV, so I guess they've been shown all over, but I just saw my firsts this weekend. Kind of exciting it was. Especially since, no one EVER campaigns in PA...this is the first time since I've been following presidential elections (back to 1984) where I can remember anyone campaigning before our primary. It's always been so late, it just never mattered much.

I just wonder how long it will take me to get sick of seeing them. Surely, the quantity will skyrocket as the election approaches.

An utterance, information, don't mince words (Part 90)...

TMI Tuesdays

1. How are your March Madness picks doing? or What is your favorite event? I don't follow, nor even really know anything, about any kind of basketball, nor about college sports, so March Madness to me is meaningless.
2. What is the best April Fool's joke - EVER? I saw this one in a magazine: this guy's cubicle at work had it's floor covered with those large plastic red stadium cups. Every inch of it was neatly lined with row after row of them. In the middle of the room though, the cups were filled with like blue Kool-Aid or something and spelled out "April Fool's". Also, I saw one where this guy got to his office and everything was Saran Wrapped. The chair, the phone, the phone cord, each individual pencil, each paprclip, the filing cabinets, the stapler, the monitor, the keyboard, everything!!! Way too much work involved in that one, but still an awesome joke!
3. Valentine's Day - bogus holiday or romantic holiday? It's a made up holiday, made up by the greeting card/chocolates/flower companies to make money. I've been both single and dating someone during various V-Day's, and I've hated it the same either way.
4. If you made any New Year's Resolutions have you broken them yet? or What have you done lately to make yourself a better person? I don't make resolutions. That way, I don't get disappointed when I break them. And I think I'm a pretty damn good person now, so I haven't made any changes recently. (Although, honestly, I really should).
5. If you believe in 'regret', what is your biggest regret? Telling someone a secret that I shouldn't have told them. It cost me the friendship, and some future damn good sex, from the person I had the secret with. Learned my lesson there.
Bonus (as in optional): Tell us about four things about yourself, one of which isn't true.
I'll do my four involving the Four Elements:
1) I'm not afraid of flying on big planes.
2) I am afraid of open flames.
3) I'm not real big on swimming.
4) I hate getting dirty and muddy.
