Chapter 9, Page 2...
Wednesday, I meant to get to work a bit early and....yeah, it didn't happen. But to fair, I was slightly late because I got stuck for 8 minutes at a railroad crossing as a train went VEEERRRRYYYY slowly by.
After I got to work, there was paperwork to get done, which I got done, despite a fuckup on my part in the afternoon because I forgot to check everything before I did it. Ah well, it was easily fixed.
After work, on the way home, I drove through a freakin' monsoon! There was driving rain, hail, winds that blew the car, people pulling off to the side of the road, etc. I was only driving about 20 mph. Luckily it didn't last a long time, but it lasted long enough.
once I got home, I changed my clothes and putzed around here for a short while. Then I drove to my aunt's, picked her up, and off we went to mom's cottage. Once there, we waited for my uncle and his wife and then the five of us were off to the dining hall at Minnick Manor (this is the building on the campus that has an exercise room, and a craft room, and mom plays cards there with other people that live there, that kinda stuff. Oh, and it also has the dining hall)
Since we were family and friends that helped move mom in, the Village was going to pick up the tab for one free meal for all of us. Mom and I, you'll remember, had eaten there last week. And the food was still as good this week. This time, I ordered the steak. It was a little thin, but it was cooked to perfection and delicious. Other of us got the salmon or the stuffed chicken breast, and all of them were delicious as well. And the best part was, it was free.
After we finished, we all went back to her cottage and sat there and 'visited' for about an hour or so. The I drove my aunt home and came home myself. When I got here, I was on the computer for a short bit, and then went to bed, to read and to sleep.
