Someone book me a room (Part 258)...

Chapter 9, Page 14...

Monday, I wanted to sleep in, but couldn't, due to an appointment.  So I got up and showered, and for the first time since the Spring, the bathroom mirror fogged up!  There has been such cooler temps the last couple days, highs in the 70s, overnight in the low 60s...I LOVE it.   Autumn's well on its way, FINALLY!

Anyway, after showered and dressing I headed out to my doctor's appointment.  The practice moved from Hagerstown to my town, which is MUCH more convenient for me, but not, I imagine, for a lot of patients in Hagerstown.  Anyway, when they moved September 1, they did NOT bring the lab with them.  So I went to the visit not having gotten any bloodwork done.  But I explained it all to my doctor, and he wrote out what I needed checked and when I was done, I just drove to a Quest Lab in town and got the blood taken there.  This is all going to be VERY VERY convenient for me now.  Instead of having to drive a half hour to get labs and later the office visit, I can now WALK to both, should I chose to, in less than a half hour!

After getting the blood taken, I returned home and putzed around a bit until nearly noon.  Then I drove out to mom's, and we went to eat in the  dining hall up at Minnick Manor where she's living.  As I think I mentioned, she gets $50 each month to use there just by living out there.  And she plans on using all of it each month.  Our meals (I had a turkey club, she a cheese steak) cost 15 bucks.  So she still has 35 to use before the end of the month.  And the food is good too!

After this, we drove to Chambersburg.  She had to pick up some paperwork from someone in some organization she's in, then deposit a check and then return a light she had bought.  And I was just along for the ride.  But it got me outta the house and was a fun time.

Speaking of that check: it was the results from he online auction.  She and I were both thinking she was going to get a little over $1000 from it.  The check, however, was for $4300!!!  We both freaked!  Couldn't imagine that!  And that just HER cut! The auction house took about a third, $2000 and some change.  So all told, she got over $6000 for everything!  DAMN!  Who knew he junk was worth so much??? We both had a laugh over that.

After returning to my house, I threw a load of clothes in the laundry, watched a Doctor Who episode, and then settled in to watch the pregame for the Monday Night Football Game.  And I watched a portion of the game too, but as it was a Philadelphia-Atlanta game, I was only mildly interested (although I was quite happy to see Philadelphia had lost!)

Also, Derick called me, and I again had to turn him down, what with the abscess still on going.  It doesn't hurt, and it's still draining (which is a VERY unpleasant taste) but after a week on these, the THIRD antibiotic, the infection is still there.  I'm somewhat concerned.  I dont want this to end up being one of those anti-biotic resistant bugs, ya know!  But back to Derick: he's contacting me about every other day to see if I can play.  And I would love to, but what he likes done, what we like to do together, I can't do with my tooth like this.  Unlike say, Neil, who last week, was mainly just cuddling, touching, talking, mild kissing, etc.  So I'm sure Derick hopes I can get this taken care of soon too!

When I tired of the game, I went upstairs, read some and then to sleep.
