There's no sun up in the sky, stormy weather...

Last night, I caught on tv that we were supposed to have some "wintry mix" this weekend. No biggie. I get up this morning, shower, get dressed and head out just like it's any other Friday. I have on my brown shoes, and a sweatshirt. I get down the two flights of stairs, open the door and lo and behold, it's raining. No, it's sleeting! Luckily I had left my gloves in the car.

On the way to work, I hear that we're to get anywhere from 1-3 inches to 5-10 inches of snow, and everywhere in between. yeah, real precise. I have no problem getting to work, although it does take longer than usual because everybody on the road is going like 25 miles an hour.

I get to work, and try to get my work done quickly, instead of the usual "pacing myself" so I can leave early if I feel like it. Then, just about noon, the big boss announces he's sending us home at noon, if we want to leave then. hell YEAH I want to leave then, but I'm still in the middle of some paperwork. SO by the time I get all that wrapped up, it's about 1245.

I leave, clean off the car (the snow's not too bad, kinda wet and heavy, good snowball makin stuff) and start home. The roads in Maryland were bad, about three inches of snow on them unplowed, slushy, a bit slippy. And Maryland takes care of thier roads. So I figured however bad it was in Maryland it would be worse in Pennsylvania, cause PA does NOT take care of thier roads. But was I surprised. The further north I went, the less snow there was. In fact, at the PA-MD border, both sides of it had bare road. Oh it was wet, but no snow. As I got into town here, there was a snow, but nothing like in MD. And I even managed to get up the alley and into the off street parking with ease.

I've spent the remainder of the afternoon watching TV and downloading porn. A good way to spend the day, eh?

Snow days CAN be fun!

Hey Ed, if he was living in PA and working in MA he'd have a hell of a commute.

In any case, here in RI the commute was delayed by about twenty five minutes in the afternoon. Not too bad, but by then it started changing to driven sleet which sucked.

Now everything is slush. And tonight it goes down to 22F which mean we'll have nice irregular ice for awhile.

The really interesting part is that more than likely this will all be gone within 3-4 days. That's how it's been the past few years.

I know that MA is Massachusetts and Maryland is MD but living in PA and working in Mud didn't sound quite right. LOL.
