Chapter 9, Page 8...
OHHHHH the frustration.
I decided on Tuesday to take my Labor Day holiday and get to the dentist's office as soon as they opened, get the stronger anti-biotic prescription, get it filled and get the pills into me and hitting the infection before 1030 am. Good plan.
But as they say, no plan, no matter how good, survives contact with the enemy.
About 815, I was on my phone to check the hours of the dentist's office and found they were....1-7 PM. *SIGH* So at 130, I go over, show them both the bottles (the one I just finished plus the one they called in for me Sunday...and that they are exactly the same medicine). She says she'll call a new one for some C-named antibiotic, but it may take a little time.
I let 4 hours pass, then I called CVS to see if they had the script ready. They never received one.
I called the dentist's office. She said they were very busy, and she had forgotten to call it in. But she was calling it in as soon as we hung up.
I gave it an hour and then about 640, called CVS again. Nope, no script.
I went to the dentist's office, they were closed. But I knew they parked around the side of the building. So I took a chance, and there was the assistant, talking to a lady in a car. She swore to me she had called it in, but right then, while I'm standing there watching, she called the script in. When she was done, she said, "Well there it is. You can go over and wait for it, if you like." And I thanked her and returned home.
So now it's like 730ish, and I head over to CVS. I ask the girl if they've gotten my script. She checks the computer and says no, they have not. I told her I just not 15 minutes ago, stood with her a parking lot and listened to her call the script in. The girl said, "Well it could be on our voicemail." And I just looked at her like, "Okay....." and she says, "We check it about every 30 minutes." And I'm still looking at her like "okay....." And finally she says, "Well give a little time to get to it." And frankly, right them, i'm SO freakin pissed I just walked out of the store. Better than than throttle the poor girl right across the counter.
I went to the car, fumed there a bit, and then drove out to mom's cottage. THere I ranted and raved and got it all off my chest. And she suggested we take a walk around the commons (its behind her house, there's a walkway that surrounds it with benches and a fountain and everything). So we took a walk, roughly a half mile, and we walked it 11 minutes.
A little before 830, I returned home, took my regular diabetic pills, took my insulin shot, and picked up my book. Then I drove to CVS. And I was going to wait there until they filled the script for me. And if they store closed at 9, and I didn't have the script, then I'd sit there until they gave me the script or they physically removed me.
I got out there and checked with the girl. She said they didn't have any. I stared at her dumbfounded. And they the pharmacist, from in back, said, "There's two profiles, check the other one." I'm thinking, "What? What's two profiles?" But the girl does something and she says, "Ah, there it is."
What the fuck?
I ask how did I get two profiles? She says one has my middle initial, one does not. That's it? REALLY? whatever, like I care at this point, just give me the anti-biotic so I can get started on it.
And so, even though I took the entire day off work to get the meds in me by 1030 am, they finally made it in only about 915pm. SIGH.
Better late than never, though I guess.
After all this, I just went upstairs, took a shower, went to bed, and read some.
