What a view to wake up in the morning.

Course, if this is what greeted me, I can assure you I'm not going to work that day. I'm not planning on leaving the bed until he does. If I even allow him to leave the bed.

TMI Tuesdays
These come from http://tmituesday.blogspot.com/

1. Which one turns you on more Ink or piercing? Why? I generally don't like either if there's too much of either one on one body. But I think I prefer piercings, cause it's a lot of fun to play with a guy's nipple piercing, and some of the best sex I've ever had was with a guy with a tongue piercing, and knew how to use it. Tattoo may look nice, but really, there's not much you can DO with one.
2. What ink do you have? If none, what would you get and and where? I've got the Superman 'S' on my left shoulder. I'd like to get a red Canadian maple leaf on my left shoulder. And that's all I want.
3. What piercing do you have? If none, what would you get and and where? I don't have any. The only thing I'd consider would be a nipple piercing...but I'd worry about the pain and loss of sensation.

4. Any other adornments you like to do for your lover or have then do for you? Nah, can't think of anything else.
5. Of all of the above is there anything that is an immediate Turn-Off? Oh, tattoos jsut thrown all over a body, hither and yon, with no rhyme or reason, just looks stupid. And piercings all over your body look dumb. Both of them make the person with them look stupid too. To me anyway.
Bonus (as in optional): If money/work place rules/your life/whatever what ALL would you do to your body in the name of sexual or just general adornment? I'm not certain I totally understand the question, but other than the one tattoo I want that I mentioned above, I have no desire to have anything else on me. Well, except for a cute young Asian twinkie with a hairthing..now THAT I'd love to have ON me.....

In the other room, got the coffee on, the pancakes done...

Last night, I recieved an invitation from A Local Celebrity, Mr. David Parispeking, to go out to eat tonight to celebrate his birthday that was yesterday. (Didn't quite follow that? Thus is the peril of being a friend of ALCMDPP. Welcome to my world.) And how could I decline?

So, firstly, we tried the new Olive Garden, its only been open a few months. When we got there, people were waiting, and I saw a lady I worked with. After we hugged and said hello, I asked her how long that wait was. She said they had been waiting for an hour and 45 minutes. AN HOUR and 45 minutes!!! I KNOW! I laughed and told her to enjoy the food. And we were off for Buffalo Wild Wings.

An hour and 45 minutes...CRAZY! They could have driven to the nearest town with an Olive Garden, eaten, and been on thier way back home in that time. There ain't no food I'm gonna wait an hour and 45 minutes for. Especially the Olive Garden. I don't wait an hour and 45 minutes for a man, even WITH the promise of sex. Please.

I'm not such a keen fan of Buffalo Wild Wings, but it's okay, so we had decent food, and good conversation. Of course, the damn NASCAR thingee was on the big screen tv's. That's something neither of us get, NASCAR. If I want to watch a bunch of stupid rednecks chase each other around in circles, I'll just an episode of The Dukes Of Hazzard. At least there I can look at John Schneider groin in vbery tight jeans.

At any rate, we finished and headed our seperate ways home. I had to stop to get a few things: Pepsi, milk, a few Aunt Jemima's microwavable pancakes and sausage. I went to the register that had Jeremy at it. (I must compliment here, the staff at that particular Food Lion. They've got a whole HORDE of hot young men working for the, especially the sexy black Nigel with the diamond earring, biceps barely contained in his shirt, and the killer smile. But he works during the day, so alas, he was not here now. And I've digressed...) Jeremy was a cutie, slightly taller than me, but very very skinny. I bet his waist size was no bigger then 26 or 27. Almost too skinny, and obviously no ass. But his face was very cute. And he had decent arms. I thought maybe he was a swimmer, with a body shape like that.

Whilst I was admiring all this, I realized he had said something to me, something about if they were good. And I saw he had just scanned the pancakes and sausage morning breakfast thingees through. I assure him they were good. He asked if they got all rubbery in the micorwave, and I said, I quote, " Oh no, not at all. They're soft, and warm, and moist and tasty." Adding in my mind "Just as I imagine YOU are." He said he'd have to try them sometime.

Now, dear reader, it took quite a bit for Uncle Polt to restrain himself. But, the fact that Jeremy was probably under 18, and still had some soft black babyhairs on his upper lip that I'm certain has never felt the cold touch of a razorblade, and probably was straight as an arrow, and probably was just making conversation to be polite, and the fact that I enjoy shopping there and dont' want to get kicked out, or barred from it, or get a rep as "that creepy gay guy who says weird things to the boys", all those factored in together is what brought a little common sense to my mind and prevented me from inviting Jeremy to my house and offering to make him some microwave pancakes and sausage when he got up tomorrow morning. It is a holiday tomorrow, so I'm certain the boy doesn't have school tomorrow. But NO. I refrained. Struggle though it was.

Take my time, all the questions in the world i can...

I've been thinking about something for a few weeks now, and debating about it, and I've decided just to do it. What the hell?

If anyone out there wants to, you can e-mail me 5 questions of your choice, and I will answer them, as truthfully as I can, and post them all here in the Palace. And can it be a bad thing to make the Palace a bit more interactive?

I'm not sure that anyone would care to ask me 5 questions, and that's why I've been a bit unsure about making the offer. I'd hate to make it and have no one, or like only one person even bother to submit to any. But what's gonna hurt anyway, if no one does (except of course for my fragile ego and delicate sense of self-confidence).

And by the by, I reserve the right to NOT answer any question, or to lie in response to any question as I see fit. (gotta cover all my bases, dontcha know?)

"What are you gonna do this weekend?" "Dunno. Wander the streets, wild and unshaven with a bottle of Wild Turkey, I suppose." - Matthew, Metrosexuality

I found it hidin' out in the weeds...

After work today, I decided to go to Borders, just to see what they had. I ended up getting a magazine, and three books, one of which was a Torchwood book. Then I checked for the Torchwood Season 1, and while the computer said they had it, it was not in the section. As I left I thought I might just check the rest of the shopping center to look for it.

I walked along and first came to Circuit City. While the store did have a nice batch of eye candy working there, I didn't see that they sold anything Torchwood either. At the opposite end of the shopping center was a Wal-mart. I had tried the Wal-Mart in the town I live in, but it's kinda small. This particular Wal-Mart was larger, so I thought I'd give it a try. Not that I expected them to sell anything as out of the mainstream as Torchwood. And once I got there and looked around, I saw that I was correct.

I didn't leave Wal-Mart totally empty, cause I did get a soft pretzel there and a soda and had them as I walked back to the other end of the center where my car was.

I was pulling out, when i remembered they had put another shopping center further up this road, but on the opposite side, and it had a Best Buy in it. That whole shopping center was less than 6 months old. I figured Best Buy would be just like the others and not have it.

i got inside, admired a bit of the eye candy working there, and then found my way to the DVD section. And much to MY surprised, they had it! They actually had about 6 or 7 copies of it. And it was much much more easily found than in the other three stores.

The price, though, was $69.99. Quite a bit steep I thought. I read the package and saw it was a 7 disc set. And I really really did want it. So my lack of impulse control took over and I bought it. Along with a pack of Swedish Fish hanging up near the registers. I ate them all on the ride home. The Swedish Fish I mean, not the 7 discs.

Now, I have something to watch the remainder of this weekend! And rest assured, i WILL watch them all this weekend!

You're never alone, he's even got a wire tap on your phone...

So, since the House did not renew Bushie's version of the FISA bill, Bushie says after tomorrow when it expires, we're all GOING TO DIE. And it'll be all the Democrats fault!

Well, no that's not really what he said, but that's what he suggested. Which is quite funny, because the actual wire-tapping abilities contained in the FISA bill are active for another year. All this version did was to protect huge telecom corporations that cooperated with the government in the illegal wire-taps from being sued over it. That's it. It had nothing to do with protecting Americans, it had everything to do with protecting huge corporations from lawsuits.

And more importantly, not just the corporations themselves, but what they know. With this not being passed, people are free to sue the corporations to find out who they illegally wire-tapped, why they did it, and who in the government they worked with to do that. And once that starts, we finally get to shed some light into the secretive shadows of the Bush administration and find out just how far up the ladder it went when decisions were made to illegally wiretap people.

This is particularly sad because the government ALREADY had all the tools it needed before they decided to break the law and wire-tap without warrants. They could then, and can still, wire-tap ANYONE in the United States...WITH a warrant. And there is a special FISA court set up for them to go to request those warrants. If the governments case against an individual is so weak they can't convince a judge in a court dealing with nothing but wire tap warrants, that a warrant is necessary, then, frankly, they have no business tapping them.

And the "immediacy" concern they floated is crap too, cause the law allows them to go to a judge up to three days AFTER they started the wire-tap, to get the warrant retroactively.

But no, all this wasnt' good enough to Bushie and his people. They wanted to wire tap anyone they wanted, for any reason they wanted, just because they wanted to. And they convinced the huge telecom corporations to go along with it. So I'm glad the lawsuits can proceed now. I'm anxious to see who was tapped, why, and who in the government authorized it. And then, I'm anxious to see what penalties befall those who broke the law. If any punishments occur at all. Bushie could just get out his pardon pen ala Scooter Libby.

If beauty is truth and surgery, the fountain of youth...

Today, Mama Polt had to have minor surgery on her foot. It's her left foot and she has a "knot" on the outside of it, at about the midpoint. She only went to the doctors about it because it was numb around it. The doctors told her it didn't look cancerous, but they recommended getting it removed anyway. So today we went in.

We got there about 12:35, she was to be there at 12:45. They said the whole wouldn't take long, and we were out of there bt 3:45. Which doesn't seem long, but in terms of waiting and waiting and hearing no news, it seemed an eternity.

She told me her doctor was Asian, so I'm thinking like a Pat Morita type: small, wrinkled, white hair, smiles a lot, probably moustache. oh NO! this kid was tall-ish, young (he looked like he could still be in high school), and GORGEOUS! Man seeing him almost made me want to have a knot on my foot just so I could talk to him about it. Now bear in mind here, I AM overly attracted to Asian. But even with that, I still this guy was cute. And afterwards, when he came to talk to me, I just kept looking at his lips and wanting to run my tongue all over them. Although I made sure to nod at appropriate times. And then, after they let me back with mom, he came back to tell her how things had gone. ANd this time, he didn't have the long white jacket on, so I could see how lean he was. And even though the scrubs were kinda baggy, he still had a pretty nice ass...from what I could see. *SIGH*

Oh, mom? She came through it fine, thanks for asking. She was told all this stuff (stay off the foot, keep it elevated, blah blah blah) and she said she's do it, yes, sir. And when i get her home, does she get on the couch and prop it up like she's supposed to? oh NO! She goes to the kitchen, gets herself a bowl of chicken soup she had made, then went to the bathroom, then changed her shirt and only THEN sat on the couch with it propped up, while she ate the soup. I was prepared to get her stuff to drink and eat, and help her to the bathroom, and maybe even stay the night if she needed to me to. Pffft, who was I kidding. She was moving all over that house like nothing at all had happened.

later in the evening, she called me. And she was prattling on for a bit about her blood pressure, and something the dog did, and then she says, she took a Vicodin earlier. I told her I could tell, cause she sounded a bit...off. Then she said she took a nap too, and laughed. I asked her how she was doing, and she said, "OH YEAH! That's why i called! [laughs] I'm doing okay, but when did I take the Vicodin? I mean, when did you leave, I took it right after you left." I told her I left about 4:50 or so. "Noooo! I took the pill about 4:00, didn't I? Didn't you leave then?" I told her we didn't even get back TO the house until about 3:50 or so. "Oh that's right? [laughs]. Okay, I better right that down, so i remember." I asked her if she wanted me to come over, and she said no she was fine. Well, i guess she was. She's feeling no pain with that Vicodin.

I'll check on her periodically throughout the day. She'll probably get tired of hearing from me. But that's job, as a son, to worry about my mother when she's high on pain meds, right?

Once more it's time for...

Well, this week, Os has given us a theme: red. It's Valentine's Day, and he wants us to do a red HNT in honor of it.

I HATE Valentine's Day. I always have. I've hated it since I was in middle school, when we had the option of buying carnations: red for love, pink for like, white for friendship, yellow for a favorite teacher. And on Valentine's Day, they delivered them. Some people sat there and had a vertiable greenhouse full of flo+ra in front of them. Some got one or two carnations, from friends. And some sat there and had nothing, nothing but an empty desk and the shame that accompanied it.

I hated it as an adult when I was told that since I didn't have anyone to share Valentine's Day with, I was somehow, in someway, less of a person than those people in all those commercials and shows that DID have someone to give to and get things from.

I hated it as an adult even when I was dating someone because the greeting card companies, chocolate companies, flower companies, and jewelry companies were all telling me that if I TRULY loved that person, I'd have to spend all this money on cards, chocolates, flowers, jewelry and gifts, or else I must not love them as much as I said I did.

If I love someone, I'm going to tell them that when i see them, or when I say goodbye to them(and i do), and not just on a random specific day chosen to make me feel I HAVE to tell them I love them.

It's all crap.

So, kids, THIS is my red, Valetine's Day HNT.

And you probably can't tell, but I'm mumbling a few choices words in the background there.

Alright by me but, where you think you're goin' sweet pea...

As I type this, the show is away to commerical before announcing the results. My own opinions:

Chris: too much like a copy of a previous dress.
Christian: What the hell? It's all billowy and bulgy and no woman would want to wear that anywhere.
Jillian: I do like it. Her jackets are always incredible.
Rami: Nicely made, but for the final challange, that's IT? That's all he does? It's not enough.
Sweet P: Love her dress, but like with rami, is that it? I'm thinking if she's inspired by a peacock, where's the train, the tail, done like a peacock tail? That's what else she needed.

My choices would be: Jillian, Christian (how I HATE saying that), and....hmm, well between Chris and Rami....I think maybe Chris, just because he could do more during fashion week than a bunch of draped Grecian dresses, that Rami might send down the runway.

So back to the show now...

WOW....well, who knew??? I like what they're doing though. I like that Chris and Rami have a face-off...a design-off (?) to decide who goes on. And really, neither of these outfits were that fantastic, surely not the best effort from each, and this will give them a chance to MAKE something fantastic, making use of their best efforts.

Poor Sweet P....well, she really was the weakest of all the remaining, designer-wise, but she was also possibly the sweetest one left too.

Just a comment about next week, the reunion show: we all heard Heidi say the winner of the favorite designer, "by a landslide" is.... To me, that means it'll be Christian, because it seems from all I read, that I must be the only person out there who DOESN'T like the arrogant, obnoxious, poodle-boy, drama queen. It seems everyone else does. And if he IS the winner, I just might have barf from all the "fierce"-ness. *UGH*

Last week, I was in training Monday, which is my regular day off. So I had a free day to take whenever. Mom usually has every other Monday off, but she switched the day off to Tuesdays since she taking some grief class on Tuesdays.

Last week, I called her boss and set it up so that I could come down to today, when Mom was off, and film a bunch of her co-workers. And since I had that free day, I just took it off today. And then, guess what?

It snowed today. Not much, but enough for them to close her work. *SIGH* the best laid plans of mice and men, eh? Well, Mom said she was transferring her days back to Mondays starting next week, so the Monday after that, I can try again...as long as it doesn't snow then too.

And speakin' his own words, facin' and forgettin...

Just listen. The man in his own words. Just listen to what he says...

If you couldn't perchance hear them, this is what was said:

The work that we face in our time is great
in a time of war
and the terrible sacrifices it entails
the promise of a better future is not always clear
there's gonna be other wars
I'm sorry to tell you there's gonna be other wars
there's gonna be a lot of combat wounds
and my friends it's gonna be tough
and we're gonna have a lot to do
That old Beach Boys song, Bomb Iran?
Bomb Bomb Bomb, Bomb...
I'm still convinced that withdrawal means chaos
and if you think that things are bad now
if we withdraw--you ain't seen nothing yet
was the war a good idea, worth the price in blood and treasure?
It was a good idea
President Bush talked about our staying in Iraq for 50 years
Maybe a hundred, that's fine with me
I don't think Americans are concerned if we're there for a hundred years,
or a thousand years,
or ten thousand years.

I like my buddies from West Texas. I liked them when I was young. I liked them when I was middle-age, I liked them before I was president, and I like them during president, and I like them after president. - George W. Bush

Boys got lips that you can't help kissing...

Uncle Polt's Helpful Hints
#39

Just in case anyone is wondering, there is a right way and a wrong way, to kiss someone.

Opening your mouth like you're attempting to each an grapefruit whole and covering the other person's lower face as if you're attempting mouth to mouth resusitation on them, is NOT the best way to go.

Although frankly, if either of these boys want to kiss me, they can do it any damn way they please and I'll not be complaining!

I guess the doctor's there in the background to make sure one didn't suck out the other's lungs, making sure they're both still breathing.

He couldn't find a prayer in the Bible! - Whit Sterling, Out Of The Past

Tried to smile, as he told me about his college life...

Today, I got the monthly propaganda from the University I graduated from. I paged through it, skimming, not really reading. The university honored an alumnus who turned 100. They had photos of some alumni gatherings. they profiled a few members of the faculty. Had a photo of two alumni who now both play for the Green Bay Packers (that one was pretty impressive, considering I only went to a small rural state college of only like 6,000 students). And they showed photos of numerous students all smiling and enjoying thier college experience.

Mine was not such as theirs. Not that I had a bad college experience, I just pretty much had an apathetic one. And that's really entirely my own fault. I went two years, took a year off, and then went back and completed the final two years. The last two years, of course, I didn't really have that many classes with people I may have met in the first two years. And i commuted each day the last two years. So that kind of precluded me from building those bonds and friendships you're supposed to build in college.

Oh there were friends. There was a sweet blackhaired girl, who's name I THINK was Sara, but I totally forget it now. She and I had several classes together. And there was Dan, the natural blonde from Nebraska who was there on a swimming scholarship. We had several study sessions together, and i found out that swimmers DO actaully shave thier entire bodies...but that's a story for another time. And there was the hot frat boy who I had almost every class with (we were of the same major) and we worked together on a project on the 1990 Census and Reapportionment. The project itself was BLAH, getting to hang with Adam in all his fresh-scrubbed, frat-boy-but-not-an-asshole, gorgeous-and-didn't-know-it, totally-straight-but-a-bit-curious, glory was quite and experience....and a story for another time as well.

But these were about it, friendship wiseh. Living with your parents a half hour away was not condusive to building bonds.

The first two years were even worse. My freshman year, I rented a room from a family a few blocks from campus. I refused to live in the dorms, I didn't want share a bathroom with 50 other guys (what the HELL was I thinking? that sound you hear, kids, is Uncle Polt smacking himself in the forehead yet again). This really meant that I had serious trouble building friendships, cause i wasn't living with the guys.

Although, at the student center, I got into a video game with two other guys. We were playing that...well, I don't recall what the game was, but you'd choose a character (barbarian, valkyrie, wiazrd, elf), and have to fight your way through levels of creatures. It was quite primitive, this WAS the fall of 1986 after all, but I was good at it cause I played it all the time in the arcade at home.

The three of us got to talking. It's unfortunate that I don't remember his name now, I think it was Dennis. Nah, that's not right, but we'll go with it anyway. Dennis was there on a baseball scholarship. And he and I clicked right off. his other friend was a heavy, kinda socially awkward guy that dressed all in black, and I have no idea what his name was. But Dennis and I became fast friends. We did almost everything together. He was unsure of college, as was I. He wasn't sure of his major, as was I. He didn't know what he wanted to do with his life, the same as I. and he loved the video games they had, the same as I. With him, I had found a friend.

And then, a month into the semester, in early OCtober, his girlfriend back home told him she was pregnant. he dropped out and returned to take care of her. He was like that. He gave up college and whatever that could have meant to him to go home and marry a girl he liked, but confided to me, he didn't love. He went back and married her cause that's the kind of thing guys like Dennis did.

Once he left, my social life at the University crumbled. I tried to hang out Dennis's all-in-black friend, but he was too obnoxious, I couldn't do it. I went to two frat rushes, and had an okay time, and met plenty of hot frat officers all wondering if I was interesting in pledging, but I wasn't (now THAT sound, kids, is Uncle Polt kicking his own ass for his stupidity). And I really wasn't into all the drinking or skirt chasing that seemed to exist there. I tried to hang out with Dennis' freaky hippy roommate, but,we had absolutely nothing in common. I even tried a very very short stint at the campus radio station, that lasted just one time.

I spent pretty much the remainder of my freshman year sitting in my room, watching tv, getting fatter (I put on the freshman 40...no wimpy freshman 15 for Uncle Polt) and generally getting into a little hole of depression.

Things improved somewhat by my second semester, cause I had several classes with Ron and Tammy. Ron had a Polish last name, was from Pittsburgh, and was probably the only one in the world to NOT know he was gay. Tammy was clearly his faghag, a somewhat dumpy girl, who had a heart as large as the University. We three had about three classes together and they immediately accepted me, and I became a part of them. The three of us hung out together all the time, or in twos if the third had a class or project or something.

I came to believe that both Ron and Tammy liked me, and I was uncomfortable about that. I wasn't attracted to either of them that way, but I was flattered by the attention. And I didn't really know how to handle it, so I ignored it, and pretended I didn't notice thier interest. Between them, though, as the semester progressed, things got testy. I think they both saw the other as competition. And when the semester ended, Tammy had decided to drop out of college altogether, and Ron transferred to a school back in Pittsburgh. I dont think it was because of the jealousy/hurt/confustion thing, but I think it might have contributed in some way to thier decisions.

the second year, I had rented an apartment with a guy I barely knew. He was a grad student, a hippy wannabe who LOVED Joan Biaz and Bob Dillan, wore sandals all the time, didn't believe in deoderant, and said, "Groovy" a lot. he and I never saw eye to eye, nor really got along. We never really talked at all. And the end of the first semester, I sub-let my part of the apartment to one of his friends, another pseudo-hippy named Tony, who was Italian, with a dark complexion, and a mane of the most luxurious black hair I had ever seen in real life on a man. I had wanted to spend time with Tony and not...well, I can't even remember the other guys' name. But I know Tony's. Guess that says a lot, eh?

The only other bright spot then was a guy named Phil. He had brown hair down to his shoulders and we shared a few classes. We agreed to go to the mall one time, and I went to his dorm room to pick him up. When i got there, he answered the door in a towel and told me was running late and had just got back from the shower. I sat on his roommate's bed while Phil finished getting ready. I remember quite a bit from that time in his dormroom, not the least of which is discovering that Phil had no problems being naked with me in the room as he chose his clothes, and fixed his hair and talked and talked and talked. Oh, and that Phil was uncut. And then we went to the mall. But while we hung out on campus and in class and stuff, that's really the only time I did anything with him away from the school. And of course, after that year ended I was off for a year. When I returned, I tried to find Phil, but I couldn't. Although to be fair, I didn't look hard.

Now this may seem like a lot, but really, these are the only friends I had from college. And over a 4 year stint, that's not that many. I just wasn't on campus enough, or at enough activities, to build any bonds. And that is my own fault, no one elses.

At times i regret it, but at other times, i realize, that's who i was at that time. And it all led to me being here. And its not too bad being here now. So I guess I can't be too upset. And I'm pretty sure now that Sara's name was actually Heather.
