Someone online, last month, I saw this thing were people took 12 photos of thier day on the 12th of the month, and then posted it online. Unfortunately, since I can't remember where I saw it, I can't direct any of you to it. However, I can show you my 12 of 12:
6:00 AM
This is me up WAY too early, posting my HNT photo for the week. And not being entirely awake hile doing so. You can see how unsteady I was holding the camera by how blurry the photo is. I went back to bed and rest the alarm.
6:45 AM
The alarm is going off...and you can see my reaction to it doing so.
7:50 AM
Driving to work, stopped at a stop light (or at least it WAS red right before I took the photo)
1:25 PM
At work, this is the lovely scenic view from my desk.
4:40 PM
After work, I went to hang out in Borders until Phoenix got off work and called me. When he did, we finally decided on a place to eat dinner: Ruby Tuesdays.
5:10 PM
I-81, driving south. I have left Borders behind and will drive to the next exit to get off where Ruby Tuesdays is at.
5:30 PM
I always have to wash my hands before i eat, and after doing so, I took this photo of the bathroom at Ruby Tuesdays. Luckily, I was the only one in there at the time.
6:20 PM
Afterwards, we went to the Prime Outlets in town because I have for MONTHS been looking for an ice crusher, and a lady I work with said she got one there. She didn't know the name of the store, but it was near Black&Decker. We had no trouble finding the store OR the ice crusher within! So now i can FINALLY have crushed ICE with my sodas!!!!! YAY!
6:50 PM
Following that, we decided to go to Target. Phoenix needed to get some Doritos or Tostitos or something for Mrs. Phoenix, The Warden. All night, i had been trying to catch him in a photo, and he just kept duckin out of the way. Well here, I caught him coming around a corner and it was too late! He was captured!
7:30 PM
This is the road I drive home on. Actually, I drive on it twice a day, once to work and once on the way back. And this streatch is great, cause its nice and open, as you can see, and is great for passing the old farts that clog the roadways around here!
9:30 PM
After a shower, I got into bed and read some comic books. Love reading. Love the comic books even more!
10:15 PM
Even though the flash is too bright, I can assure you this is a call from Freddie. And this is how I ended my night, like end most, talking to and saying goodnight to my sweetie. And then I turn out the light and go to sleep.

Undress me, will I look like a fool (Part 66)...

After the events of yesterday (see the post immediately below this one), I don't really have a lot of energy or inventiveness left. So I'll just grab one I had stored already on the computer.

this one is one of a few I took several months ago. I found a pair of boxers on the floor next to the computer (yeah, it's best not to ask too much about that), and took a bunch of photos with them. A lack of inspiration will do that to ya, dontcha know?

That's why I spend my days alone...
Yesterday, i dropped my car off at the mechanic's to get the oil changed today. That meant that today, I took my mom's car to work. Which also meant, when i went to get the keys this morning, I talked to her for a bit, and ended up getting to work late.
At work, there had been a backup in the sewage line, so several drains were regurgitating thier contents. It took most of the morning for them to get it fixed and cleaned up, but nonetheless, the odor remained, wafting through out the building.
Today was also the day mom was taking dad to his first chemo treatment. I got a call in the early afternoon from her saying that they couldn't do the chemo because he has pneumonia in his right lung where the cancer is. They were re-hydrating him, and giving him anti-biotics and they were gonna try the chemo again next week. This also explained why he was so sick with a fever and fatigue all last weekend.
After work, I stopped to pay for the car and get my keys. The mechanic told me my two back tires were flat. They each had a nail in them, and were flat, and, didn't I notice anything? Well I noticed the car wasn't handling as well I thought she should be, but NO I didn't notice the two back tires were flat! If i had, I think I would have done something, or at least mentioned it to someone. Luckily, he could removed the nails and patch up the tires, so thankfully, i didn't have to buy new ones.
So I get to mom's house with her car, thinking she'll be there and she can drive me back to get mine. but no, they're not there. So I figured she's still dealing with dad at the hospital, I sat down and waited. I mean it was already 4;30, you'd think they'd be home soon.
About 4;45, she calls me. They're admitting dad to the hospital because they can't get his fever down and his oxygen level is a bit low. She needs to get something for him from home, and go to Wal-Mart to get some things, and did I want to go out to eat with her, she's not had anything since breakfast. So i tell her, sure, I guess, but I want to go get my car before we do anything else. She says okay, she leaving the hospital now.
Ten minutes later, I'm still waiting out front of the house for her. Mind you, it probably only takes 15-20 minutes to WALK to thier house from the hospital. I thought maybe she meant I wanted her to pick me up at the mechanic's, so finally i call her:
Mama: Hello?
Polt: Where are you?
Mama: I'm home.
Polt: (looking up and down the street for signs of the truck or her) Who's home?
Mama: (after a pause) MY home.
Polt: Um, no. No you're not. I'm out front of the house waiting for you.
Mama: I've lived here for over 40 years I know my own house!
Polt: Well WHERE are you in the house?
Mama: I'm in basement, coming up the stairs.
Polt: OOOOOH.
(note, we have a garage out back with access from a side alley that i can't see from the front. She put the truck away in the back and entered the house from the back and came up through the basement)
We got up the bedroom together we have to get personal items for him, as well as a Power Of Attorney paper they filled out about 15 years ago. Why the hospital needs that when he's only going to be there they think 2 days is beyond both of us. Nonetheless mom gets into the safe and starts rooting through all the papers therein, dropping them on the bed. She finds my birth certificate, her will, several savings bonds, but no power of attorney. Meanwhile I go gather up his personal stuff: razor, toothbrush, some underwear, slippers, etc. When i come back she's sealing the safe after leaving a sheet on the bed. "Found it" she says. "Now, we need to go to Wal-mart for somethings. Where's my list?" She had a list, on a piece of paper, that she laid on the bed.....and was now sealed in the safe. So she had to re-open it and go through all the papers again until she found the list.
We got to eat at a buffet first, nothing really to report from there, other than the food was good and we both ate too much of it. then to Wal- Mart. Among the things we need to get him are some pajamas. He already has a pair of pajama bottoms, but thier too light and he gets cold. And she wants to find him a thicker kind, maybe flannel (flannel jammies, in the middle of summer, go figure), and shirt to wear, but not a t-shirt. Just a shirt without a collar and no buttons...which makes me ask "But a shirt with no collar and no buttons is, um, a t-shirt." that frustrated her, so I just let her look for what she wanted and I checked out the hot guys modeling the underwear on the front of the various packs.
I get back to the cart and see that she has a set so pajamas, top and bottom, that say, 2 XG/ 2 XL. And I'm thinking, my dad does NOT need 2X jammies. I myself could almost wear a 2X, and he's way smaller than me. I try to point this out to her, but she says, "No, that's what I'm getting him. He'll need them." Only later, at the hospital, when she opened them up, did she notice how big they were. And that there was only one pair. She thought it mean "2 pairs of XL tops and bottoms" NOT one pair of "2XL tops and bottoms" . *SIGH* Guess I can't be too hard on her. She never had her husband in the hospital before, and honestly, she's a little flighty to begin with. She's a saint, but she's a true blonde as well.
So we got the stuff to the hospital. We got it all situated and then he wanted to TV on, so she turned it on. She went to sit down in a chair, but the curtain that seperated his bed from the "thanksfully" empty one was laying across it. So when she sat down, she damn near ripped the curtain down. then she jumped up because of th noise, and almost knocked over the pole that was holding dad's IV. Almost, thank God.
After all this, we only had about 20 minutes until visiting hours ended. Then she drove us back to her place and I walked home and got here and typed all this for you.
And now, after that day, I am beat. Beat like a dog that shit on the expensive Persian rug. So I am taking a shower and going the hell to bed.

An utterance, information, don't mince words (Part 50)...
As always, these come from http://tmituesday.blogspot.com/. Stop by and play along.
1. Who was your childhood hero? Superman, of course!
2. Have you ever had sex with someone who has a myspace page? Um, yeah, everytime I masturbate. Seriously, yeah, Freddie has a MySpace page.
3. What fantasies have you openly told your partner about? Having a threeway with him and another guy, springs to mind. And actually living out the fantasy was pretty damn hot too.
4. Have you ever said you love someone but didn't mean it? Oh hell yeah. Not that I'm proud of it, but when you're young and horny, you say what you need to to get what you need...if you know what I mean.
5. Have you ever woke up in the morning and did not know the person who was next to you? No, I always knew who they were and where I knew them from....even if I didn't always recall thier name at that time...I usually came up with the name as the morning wore on.
Bonus (as in optional): Do you remember a time when you were having sex that you smile or even laugh about now? Do tell.... Oh, I can laugh now about the worst sex I ever had. A guy, masculine looking fella, shaved head, all muscley, that i brought home one night. Only, when we got home, under his clothes, he was wearing a bar and panties and hose. I didn't say anything and tried to overlook it as we tried to have sex....but he had to stop to use the bathroom. And he didn't shut the door, so i heard all the...noises. THAT was a definite buzz kill. After that, i was NOT into the anal sex we were trying before. We turned to oral sex, and that too was just horrific...too many teeth scrapings by him. We ended up just beating off to a porno. And then thankfully he left. At the time it was NOT funny, but now, yeah, I laugh.

No cars no pool no pets...
About twenty years ago, we got a little cockapoo that we called Cookie. She was quite the lap dog. She was ALWAYS on your lap, or if you were laying down, cuddled up next to you. We had to put her down in like 2003 or 2004. In 2000, we got a poodle named Angel. Angel is NOT a lap dog. She'll lay with you, or on you, whenever it suits her, but she'd just as soon lay on the floor at your feet or on a pillow or whatever. She's in no way a lap dog or a cuddle dog.
Well, over at the house today, one time i went to check on dad, and this is what I saw.
I HAD to get a photo jsut to prove to him and mom that Angel was actually up there with him. I think she knows something's wrong. Dad's not acting like himself, and so, if you'll forgive me for giving her human thoughts and emotions, she wanted to lay with him to make him feel better.
I know that's probably silly thoughts on my part, but it is still sweet.

I became a dentist and I drilled...

At any rate, he looked at my filling I was having problems with, then sat and looked over my file. he mentioned something about them previously recommending a crown, did I know anything about that? I told him no. he said with my insurance, it should cost me out of pocket about $155 which i outstanding, cause crowns cost like $800. Most insurances only cover 50%, but not mine. (So despite all the bitching I do about work, can't really complain about thier dental coverage, apparently).
I figured i could handle $155 so I said sure, let's do it. I asked what it entailed. he said "We prep the tooth, take an imprint, send it to the lab to get the permanent crown made. Then we take an imprint and make you a temporary crown until we get the other one back." I said okay.
As I thought about it, the "prep the tooth" part was a bit worrisome. I had heard that they have to do a root canal before doing a crown, and I didn't like that idea. So I asked again, "When you say prep the tooth, what does that mean? I've not had a crown before so I don't know."
His answer: "We prep the tooth so we can take the imprint and get it ready for the temporary crown today." Hmmm....yeah, didn't really answer my question. But then I thought, well I've committed to the crown, I don't want to go back on that now, and I'll just see what happens when they do this. I don't want to talk myself out of it.
So then he says, "Okay, I'll use the novocaine" and comes to me with a q-tip and starts rubbing it on my gums. I'm thinking to myself, "Oh, no no no no...no way is this quack drilling into my mouth after only RUBBING novocaine on! i need SHOTS! And many of them!" So I said, "So, um, you don't do the shots?"
"Oh no, I'll use the needle, I just want to numb the gums first. it makes a bit easier for people if the gums are numb first." I heaved a sigh of relief. Then came the shots. They took an impression. Then the drilling started.
Thank God the novocaine had kicked it. I don't know how long he drilled but it seem like 15 minutes (although it was proably less than 5). And then they took two more impressions. I felt up there with my tongue and it felt like the center part of my tooth was all like square and flat and either side of it was nothing. Weird. Oh, and I can't be certain, but might have pulled some of the root out, cuase it....well it felt like he was doing that at one point. I didn't ask becasue I really didn't want to know.
I asked if they were done drilling and they said yes, and agian I heaved a sigh of relief. No I didn't fell anything, but I could HEAR it and SMELL it, and it bothers the FUCK out of me. You think with all the technology we've got now there'd be a way to make a dentist drill less....like fingernails down a chalkboard, less disturbing, ya know. I clutched the arms of the chair so hard I think i left permanent indentations on them.
So anyway, he put the temporary crown on, we made an appointment for 3 weeks and they sent me on my way. No, about an hour after the shot, the novocaine is stil in effect, so it doesn't hurt...yet. When that wears off, man I hope there's no pain. I am SUCH a wuss baby when it comes to tooth pain....
But at least I survived.

On pink floyd and banned from the british blocks...
(July 8) - A couple says their vacation was ruined when an RV park owner told them they weren't welcome after discovering their 2-year-old foster son had the HIV virus.
Last week, Dick and Silvia Glover went to the Wales West RV Park in Silver Hill, Ala., with their foster son Caleb. When the boy was banned from using the pool and showers, the Glovers said they were offered an uncomfortable and painful choice: They could either keep Caleb out of the water or leave
."We weren't sure if somebody could get the virus if the child upchucked on them or from blood or what," said Ken Zadnichek, the park's owner. "We didn't know what the risk was. That's why we asked for something from their doctor or the county health department."Dick Glover said the request for a doctor's note made it clear Caleb was unwelcome.
An Alabama newspaper quoted Zadnichek as saying, "I'm not responsible for their feelings. I'm responsible for the well-being of everybody in the park. If their feelings got hurt, I'm sorry. That's the way it's got to be."Upset and dismayed, the couple left with its son."Here we are paying for the facilities, but there's certain ones our son can't use," Dick Glover said.
Medical experts said the HIV virus is unable to spread through casual contact."There's absolutely no way you can get HIV from a pool or a shower casual contact using the same facilities," said David Little, director of South Alabama CARES, an AIDS education and outreach organization that serves 12 counties in south Alabama. "It just doesn't happen."The Glovers said Caleb is a happy child who they just wanted to please because his life expectancy is only seven years.
How can this happen? How, in this day and age, can something like this happen? I mean, we're in the 25th year of the AIDS epidemic, and we've known almost from the beginning that it's not spread by casual contact. Is this 2007 or 1987? Even if the regular folks down there hadn't heard yet, certainly the county health official should have known. I know the deep South isn't a bastion of knowledge about HIV and such, but come ON! that county health official needs to resign so they can get someone in there that actually knows a thing or two about medicine.
For shame.

- I've never been able to get into Dr. Who. i know, I know, it's a geeky British sci-fi thing that's viewed with ridicule on this side of the Atlantic. Still, I always felt I was missing something by not "getting" it. Well last night, I decided I'm gonna watch a recent episode all the way through, and maybe I will get it.

It was from 2005, with Christopher Eggleston as the Doctor. And it was about an alien spaceship crashing into the Thames, and something called the 'slierins' (?) using human 'skins' to impersonate high government officials. And, to my surprise, i actually got drawn into it! Course, with my luck it was a two parter, and they weren't showing the second part!!!! So i don't know what happened. But I think I"ll try to catch it from now on, maybe I'll be able to enjoy future episdoes.
- Tomorrow, I have a dentist appointment. I am SO stressing about this. I've been having issues with a filling for several months now, and I'm going to get it looked at. I'm just scared he's gonna give me the options of a crown, a root canal or pulling it. I don't have the money for a crown, I'm NOT bothering with a root canal, and I am fearful of pulling it cause of the issues I had with two other teeth being pulled. One, the roots had grown together, and the other the roots had spread out so they wouldn't fit through the hole, and he had to saw a tiny piece of my jaw away to se could slip the tooth out (it sounds a LOT worse than it was at the time, novocaine works wonders). But after both of them, the pain was horrendous! I am SO stressed...breathe, breathe, breathe....
- I chew my fingernails all the time, and sometimes, I'll chew them too far back on the side and it'll get all infected and painful, and swell up filled with pus and I have to sqeeuze the pus out and soak in the epsom salts and stuff like that. Yeah well very pleasant. Well, jsut this past week it happened again. But this time, it was on my right big toenail!!! And I can't even get my toes to my mouth! No, seriously, I don't know what happened. I haven't cut my toenails right before it started. it hurt and swelled up. Just last night, after I got a shower, I popped it. Pus oozed out. Feels much better now, but I hope the infection doens't return. And just cause I love you all so much, I took a photo of it, pre-popping.
- My dad has cancer, as I've mentioned, and has finished up the radiation treatments on his neck. this week, he starts his chemo treatments for his lung cancer. I was just noticing last week how old he looks. He's 67, but looks at least 10 years older. he's all stooped over, and just, very feeble looking. It's not like him at all. And mom told me he's been in bed since Firday night. She and I today moved the fold-out love seat that was upstairs in the spare room down to out dining room. (That was ahoot, and old lady and an out of shape middle aged fag trying to move that down the steep stairs and narrow doorways of the house. but we got it done.) He'll be right in the next room if he needs something, she's be able to check on him easier than running up and down the stairs all the time, which is easier for her, and if someone comes to visit him, he wont's be upstairs, they can see him easier there. And the bad part is, he's supposed to get even more sick once the chemo starts. It'll be rough on both of them, not only dad.
- The weather's not been too bad. yeah, it's been warm, high 80's low90's, but the humidity's been kept in check. Yeah, we had two three-day stretches so far of high heat and humidity, but basically, it's been normal summer weather. These are the summer days I remember as a kid, warm, but tolerable. Not week long or ten day long streches of temps around 100 and humidity close to matching it like has been the case the last few years. Although, we're only in early July, there's still PLENTY of time for a God-awful heat wave to hit. Man I freakin HATE summer sometimes.....

OS gave us a theme this week: Showing how we celebrated July 4th (here in the states) or Canada Day, (dont I wish?) for the Canadians. So I had my camera with me all day. In the morning, my town always had a July4th parade. it started this year at 1030 am. I was curbside with my family at exactly 1030am, and it started raining. It rained periodically on and all for about 15 minutes, and then stopped for the rest of the parade. And while I was kinda humid, the temps were only in the 70's, so despite the rain, it wasn't a bad day for a parade. Not like other years where it was so stinking hot and humid we spent most of the day inside in the a/c. But during the parade I took a picture of myself and this is what I'm posting.
Yeah, that's me. At the July 4th parade. Hair flat and clothes damp for the rain. As an emergency vehicle passes behind me. Lots and lots and lots of fire trucks, ambulances, and police cars. Whoop-pee.
But whatever. I got to see my little cousins, and see a few (there weren't many) nice looking guys out and about. And afterwards, cookout at Mama Polts!!!!!!!

A time that night in Toronto...
In June of 1997, My Fairy Godfather Mark, who at that point was really just a friend of a friend, said that he was going to meet a friend of his in Toronto over the July 4th weekend. He asked if I wanted to come along, he said the more that went, the cheaper it was. I had never been to Toronto, really had never thought about going to Toronto, but I'd been working at the job I have now for almost a year, and had not had a vacation, so I said sure why not?
That year, July 4th fell on a Saturday, I think. We traveled up the Friday before. Go to Buffalo NY around lunchtime and got in a horric traffic jam. But we made it the rest of the way up. We stayed at the hotel Selby, the only time I stayed there. It attempted to have turn of the century atmosphere, but really didn't succeed at it. Still it was enough for us. We met Mark's friend Paul at the hotel. He took us to eat along Church Street, at the Blue Mango (it's not there anymore). Gay Pride had been the week before, and all the flags and such were still up.
This trip I was first introduced to Woody's (of Queer As Folk fame), Remingtons, the Eaton Centre, the CN Tower, the lakeside area, the Rocket, Out In The Street, the chinatown area, and Labatt's beer. And I've been in love ever since. I've been thre 15 times in the last 10 years as a matter of fact. And I plan on going back this fall.
I've scanned a few photos of the trip. Surprisingly, i have none of the three of us. I've only got some landmarks.
I've got the Hotel Selby, where we stayed.

The CN Tower, I took from the lakefront.

A Afro-Canadian celebration we stumbled into.

And Remingtons, where much fun was had, both this trip and subsequent ones.

I can't imagine my life now without Toronto. And for that I have one person to thank: My Fairy Godfather Mark. I have so much to thank him for, and since he's moved back to Michigan, I've been neglecting him, even though distance does tend to do that to a relationship. So even though I don't think I've ever said it enough, Mark, let me say here I love you, and all that you did for me, helping me come out of my shell and helping to shape me into the gay man I am now. i don't think there's anyway I can repay you.

One of the most meaningful things that's happened to me since I've been governor - president - governor - president. Oops. Ex-governor. I went to Bethesda Naval Hosptial to give a fellow a Purple Heart, and at the same moment I watched him - get a Purple Heart for actions in Iraq - and at that same - right after I gave him the Purple Heart, he was sworn in as a citizen of the United States - a Mexican citizen, now a United States citizen. - George W. I'm counting on a new beginning....

I count 11 shirtless guy, 2 boxerbriefs, 2 hands raised, one 6 pack of chiseled abs, 1 one wife-beater, 1 pillow in the window (?), 1 jockstrap, 1 pair of briefs, and two delectable nipples up front. Yum.
I'll take all of them please. No need to wrap them up, I'll just use some on the way home.

An utterance, information, don't mince words (Part 49)...
1. Describe your first kiss. Fourth grade, in my aunt’s backyard, behind a large tree there. Kristie Garnes and I were sitting there, decided we wanted to "go together". We held hands behind the tree for a while, then we kissed. Just the chaste closed mouth/puckered lips kinda kiss. That’s all we knew, I guess. After hanging out behind the tree for a little while, we decided it wasn’t working and we "broke up". Even then, I guess I knew I didn’t like chicks.
2. Should a person's pubic hair be trimmed, shaved, or just grown out as the jungle God intended it to be? Personally, I like it trimmed, don’t like getting hairs between my teeth. Shaved can look good, but only on the right type of person.
3. What's the best super-hero comic book movie ever made? X-Men 2, hands down.
4. Coke or Pepsi? Pepsi, hands down.
5. Have you ever been caught masturbating? Mom caught me once. I tried to quickly cover up, but she knew what the score was…so to speak.
6. Which way do you lean your head when going for a kiss? I lean to the right…unless Freddie’s head is leaning that way, then I go left.
7. Jockstraps, sexy or no? As in question #2, I’d say it depends on the person. And muscular, athletic man looks HOT in a jockstrap. Any other type of man, well, the sexiness quotient drops proportionally to out-of-shapedness of the guy wearing it.
Bonus (as in optional): Have you ever used the excuse, "Oh, I was so drunk that night, I don't remember a THING!" My LORD, if it wasn’t for that excuse I would NEVER have gotten laid at ALL in high school! So many times my friends and I would be drinking at someone’s house, and we’d all just crash there, and if we shared a bed, inevitably something would happen between us. And that was always a convienent excuse.

She's got dirty dishes on the brain...
Yeah, I have no idea when the last time was I did the dishes either. See below maybe you'll understand.

So, at 6:45 I started the water running in the sink. At 7:30, the last bit of water ran out of the drain. It took a full 45 minutes to clean them all. I used all the hot water as well, there was nothing but cold coming out of the faucet. Also, during the cleaning, I HAD to have something to help me manage my way through.

Yes, that IS a beer. And those ARE suds on my hands. That is a batch of suds on my forehead, not sure how that got there. That IS my purple and blue checked arpon as well. And that is an iPod ear-thingee in my ear. can't do dishes without music. Thank God no one was around with a videocam, cause even though I made sure I didn't sing out loud (don't want anyone else in the house to hear me through the walls, or anyone walking down the street to hear me out the windows), I still dancing my fat ass off! I just couldn't stop from moving. Made the chore that much more fun and made the time seem to pass quicker.
And at the end of those 45 minutes, THIS was the result.

Yeah, it did take two dishtowels to dry them all. The first one got soaked through and through and I had to get a fresh one.

The fumes aide the pace of my cleaning...
I cleaned my bathroom.
Well, parts of my bathroom. The sink and toilet specifically. I know, I know, there are many doubting Thomases among you, so as proof, I took before and after photos!
Prepare yourself. Put down any food or drinks you may be consuming. Make sure the elderly, children, small household pets, and anyone with a delicate constitution are out of the room. These first photos are NOT for the weak at heart...or weak of stomach for that matter. You HAVE been warned!

Okay, now all those little spots on the sink are just hair. I have to trip my goatee, and naturally i do it at the sink, and it jsut goes....well, everywhere. And to be fair I JUST trimmed it this morning. As for the other stains, well I have to rationale. And as for the spots on the toilet, well I think the less said the better.
Now, quickly moving onto the AFTER photos!

Yay!!! All sparkley and shiney! And don't go asking when the last time was that I cleaned them, because I have no idea myself. Your guess is as good as mine.
Good thing I'm charming, funny, and sexy as all get out, eh? Cause I'm not gonna win any dates based on my cleaning skills.
