find something new, shiny like a brand new toy

Mom called me at work today asking if I was doing anything tonight (I had plans to go to a hockey game with some co-workers, but a bout of....the poopies put the quabash on that idea), and i told her nothing special. She told me I might want to stop over, as she has something I might really like. I thought she meant she had completed another batch of her snickerdoodles.

But when I asked her what, she said "It begins with a 'd'." A 'D'? Totally lost me there. But as i was trying to figure it out, she shouts excited, "Your Dell! Your laptop arrived!" You may remember I posted about my decision to get one, and last Monday, the 8th, I ordered it online. And now, just ten short days later, it's HERE!

Funny tangental story: When I ordered it, I said to deliver it to my mom's house, as someone's gonna have to sign for it, and chances are I'd be at work, so that's why I directed it there. Mom has a guy that's been replacing some doors in her house, and he was there today. She left to run to the post office or somewhere, and when she returned, she noticed the Dell box sitting by the computer. She asked him and he said when they brought it, he just signed for it and put it there. My laptop was signed for by a guy who I've never met, and who's name I don't even know.

Anyway, I cracked it open and got the prelimiary stuff set up. I'm waiting for a friend to come over and help me set up the router now, though. But even though I'm not yet using it, I at last have my laptop!

And here's the sweet little thing itself, in a Midnight Blue (the closest thing they had to purple) casing!

And open with it's screen shining brightly!

I do so love a new toy. Merry Early Christmas to ME!

hmmm...you couldn't think of anything that began with 'D'? ;)

You're going to love the wide aspect screen on it. Much better for the porn!

Good luck with it. I've been in lengthy discussion with people who think Dell laptops suck. My experience with them has been mixed. Between the two XPS M140's in this house one had to have it's motherboard replaced. Luckily it was under warranty.
