Today In gay History (Part 14)...

Gay Guys In History

Walt Whitman

Mr. Whitman lived from 1819 to 1892.  He is among the most influential of American poets.  He was a teacher, government clerk, self-publisher and a volunteer nurse during the Civil War.  His major work, Leaves Of Grass, was ruled obscene due to it's frank treatment of homosexuality.
