Today in Gay History (Part 17)...

Gay Guys From History

Quentin Crisp

Mr. Crisp lived from 1908 - 1999.  From his youth, he was very effeminate.  After leaving home and school on moving to London he took up in the gay scene there and began reveling in his effeminate nature, wearing makeup and women's clothes.  He was a writer, his most famous work being The Naked Civil Servant.  A TV show based on the book made him an international star.  He had a one man show that toured the UK and the USA.  He even played Queen Elizabeth I in 1992's Orlando.
