Mal Duncan

DC Comics' Mal Duncan first appeared in Teen Titans #26, in March-April 1970.  Mal Duncan fought the leader of a street gang and the Titans recruited him into their membership.  Mal felt inadequate due to being "powerless".   He found a strength-enhancing exoskeleton and took on the identity of the second Guardian.  Later, after fighting a mystic being, he is given 'Gabriel's Horn' which allows him to use the horn to fight crime as well, and he takes on the identity Hornblower.  However, he soon returned to the Guardian identity.  He married Bumblebee and they move to California.  He opens a jazz club named "Gabriel's Horn".

Later still he builds another horn, this one that creates spatial warps, and takes the costume identity of The Herald.  After a short time, both he and Bumblebee retire.

Years later, due to another major crisis, Duncan reassumes the Herald identity and with Bumblebee, they fight with other heroes in that crisis. During it, Duncan's lungs and vocal cords are damaged.  He is later fitted with cybernetics and using those, takes the identity of Vox.  Both of them join The Doom Patrol for a while.  A bit later, they get divorced, and Duncan retires fro super-heroics.

Mal Duncan has had various super powers, depending on whichever identity he was in at the time.
