History is only made by the masses of the people (Part 11)...

Black Super Hero History Month

Dr. Mid-Nite II

DC Comics Dr. Mid-Nite II first appeared in Infinity Inc #21 in December 1985.

The original Dr. Mid-Nite fought crime during WWII.  Afterwards, he ran a clinic in an inner city where Dr. Beth Chapel worked with him.  She was involved in an explosive accident, went blind, but, like her predecessor, gained the ability to see in the dark as if it were light.  She took up the mantle, and unfortunately this hideous new costume, of Dr. Mid-Nite.

She applied to and eventually joined Infinity Inc, but it was soon thereafter the team disbanded.  And it was soon after that, that the US Government picked Dr. Mid-Nite II to go with a half dozen other superheroes to capture the villain Eclipso.  She, and most of them, were killed during that mission.

Dr. Mid-Nite II was blind in light but could see in the dark and had black out bombs she could use to fill areas up with a black gas no one could see in but her.  She had the normal fighting skills of a normal human female.
